Bulbs repeatedly 'failing' in bathroom mr16 light set. On closer inspection, the ceramic connectors had begun to fail (20 years old!). These replacement connectors are easy to retro fit (see photograph) by simply cutting off old ceramics at the wire, attach new ones with pre stripped wires. These are well made and the sprung grip for the bulb terminals is an upgrade from the original fittings. Spent around a tenner instead of hundreds on a new transformer, fittings etc. Would strongly recommend using WACO 221 wire connectors for your joins, as the lever action makes working close to the ceiling much easier. Excellent value for money.

Good product

A bit crude but less flimsy than alternatives

We needed to replace the GU5.3 socket in one of our bathroom lights in which the bulb kept failing. Tracked down the problem to a combination of loose/corroded contacts and frayed wire in the existing socket.Seemed to be lots of choice on Amazon, but these stood out having an apparently different bulb pin mounting mechanism. Fitted today and the new bulb certainly is gripped much more securely than the type it replaced and feels very secure. The additional red cable sheath is something the original did not have so hopefully will provide some additional fraying protection too.So far so good, and pleased with the result.

I bought these due to the good reviews on Amazon but I've been disappointed so far. The problem with some I received is that the pins on the bulbs would only go into one of the contact sockets in these holders. The problem was that the spring in the contact housing had been fitted vertically instead of horizontally. This meant that the bulb pin was trying to compress the spring coils sideways rather than lengthways. A few minutes work with some fine pliers and I was able to bend the contact open and replace the spring in the correct orientation. Unfortunately though, the contact does not go back to its original shape but is at least usable. They do make a good firm contact with the bulb but sadly the quality control lets them down.

Perfect for replacing some old connections that were worn and on the brink of a meltdown (the shielding near the holder had melted from the heat).Good quality, well priced and quickly delivered by amazon.

I have had great difficulties over the last 15 years with getting my bathroom lights to stay on, even with another set sockets from another manufacturer. However three months after installing these I have not had any problems. They were easy to install and work. My only criticism is that the description at the time I bought them did not indicate a six pack so I bought far too many
