Great for painting knives and coolers
I love these pens! It is easy to get the paint flowing and they draw smoothly and continuously. I have had so much fun using them that I want to share a few details from three projects that may prove informative to skeptical readers (like me) who may still be on the fence.Project 1: Paint the handle of a Milwaukee knife black:First, I thoroughly sanded the red plastic handle prior to painting. Initially, I tried coloring it black with a Sharpie marker. But the ink kept rubbing off on my hands and pants (fail).Second, I painted it black with these paint pens. I painted one side, then the other, letting it dry before flipping.Result: The paint dried hard as desired (no rubbing off, bleeding, etc.). You can permanently paint a pre-sanded plastic knife handle black with these markers.Project 2: Paint the inset portions of a metal Leatherman handle:This was just for fun. I did NOT pre-sand the metal, instead I just used the pen to color the inset parts black.Result: The paint chipped off the raised letters after about a week. I running my fingernail over the other areas easily scratched off lines of paint. If I paint metal again, I will prep the surface (clean and sand) first, and probably add a protective clear coat.Project 3: Decorating a small Igloo fishing bait cooler:I received this cooler as a holiday gift from work (weird but charming) and decided to draw on it with these pens. Lessons learned:- Paint from light to dark colors, and if you have a white surface, is the original white (drawing white ink over other colors, even silver, is not as effective).- The paint sticks unbelievably well with zero surface prep and will not come off unless you use some kind of oil based paint thinner- Once dry, you can overwrite lighter colors with darker colors, but not vice versa. For example, black covered every color, but a light color would dissolve and pick up a little of the underlying color creating a blended new color. This was especially problematic when I tried to make a Purple Heart with gold arteries and accents - the gold was virtually invisible and I had to redo all the gold parts in black.- You can create blended colors (as is sometimes done with brush pens) and drawing lines on blank paper will restore the blended pen to the original color.- Pressing paper, your finger, a brush, etc to wet paint lets you create textures and other effects.- Be careful with dirty hands! It is easy to get a dot of paint on your finger without knowing it and then accidentally mark your surface with an unremovable streak or dot. I did this a few times. It may be possible to remove the marks with stronger paint thinners but I don’t have any of those and it is for fish bait so I don’t care.Bottom line: buy them! They are the most economical option I have found ($3 for one black Sharpie paint pen at Home Depot) and they are of excellent quality. Happy painting!

Great quality!
Fabulous on acrylic cups. Colors are vibrant and come out well once the tip is activated.

Worth it !
I’m going crazy with this product.I need more……See the Picture included. I used this product as the paint fell into the crevices on its own. I waited until it fully cured then carefully hand sanded the top surface and sealed it with a clear coat.

Small enough to be comfortable
These arent to large to where uncomfortable to hold. Work well and stay on what you use them for once dry

Not washing off
I’m a teachers aide and we like to write names in tables where the children sit but they pick the tape or the marker scrapes off so I got these and so far the only thing that will take it off is hand sanitizer, I also paint on wood and love how well they go on and how vibrant the colors ar on the wood
