These are the best nail clippers I have used. They ARE sharp, so you need to be careful, but they cut through relatively thick nails easily.

Well made and very effective. Old people toenails are no match for these clippers. Caution advised because they are extremely sharp and whatever you clamp them on is going to get cut. That said, compared to the usual flimsy junk cutters these are the premium thing.

It's quite sharp and easy to use. I like my toenails short, and some are hard to get close without cutting yourself. I feel like I can see what I'm doing and feel where the cutter is pretty well. I don't have thick nails, and can't speak to how it works for that, but it clips mine very easily.

Stop buying those cheap nail clippers you see at the dollar store or even the more expensive ones elsewhere. The cheapies are just gonna shatter your nails and leave you a burr you need to sand down, and the more expensive ones aren't going to do what these bad boys do. First of all, the fact that they open super wide is a big help with getting them seated right under your toe nails, if you have a difficult time bending to reach your feet or bending your legs to where you can actually trim them easier. Not being spring loaded helps a lot with putting pressure down to cut through the nail, but you won't even need to really do that. The main reason for that being that these puppies are stupid sharp. Take a piece of paper and try to cut it with your old nail clippers. They might do it, but not as clean and as smooth as these will. These will chop through your nail like a hot knife through butter. Because they do such a good job doing that, you don't actually have to worry as bad about the nail you trimmed flying across the room like your old pair will do. Another plus side to the wide opening on the mouth is that you can more easily clean these clippers, if you even need to do that. A neat little trick with these too, if you ever need to trim the end of a zip tie, these will go through it better than a pair of scissors or even a razor blade, leaving it smooth and rounded. Definitely not the intended use for these but hey, a good use is a good use, keep your ties neat and your or someone else's arms unsliced.

Nice sharp clipper with plenty of blade clearance for thick nails. It would have been nice to have a file for fingernails, but overall, this is a high-quality clipper.

I have been using free nail clippers for years and developed one thickened toe nail which was too thick for my "cheapie" nail clipper. I did a fair amount of research and settled on the KOHM clipper. This seems solidly built and accommodates and cuts all nails (within reason) with ease. Compared to previous clippers I have used, this KOHM is a real pleasure to use. Highly recommend!!
