My 5 yo daughter has curly hair that’s very long and for swim lessons wanted to protect her hair! This is a tad big for her honestly but it’s not so big that it doesn’t work. She will grow into it before I know it. I was a competitive year round swimmer for 12 years and always wore SPEEDO brand caps. Happy to see the same quality and thickness I remember! My daughter had no issue with it (although she was skeptical) and wanted to keep it on for play swim outside of lessons. So that’s a win in my book! Def recommend.

The silicone material offers a snug fit without being overly tight, making it comfortable to wear for extended swim sessions. It stretches to fit various head sizes while still maintaining a good grip. Helps keep hair dry because it’s water resistant. It’s a bit hard to put on since it’s slippery due to the silicone.

Fits my six-year-old granddaughter perfectly and as soon as she figures out exactly how to get her massive amount of hair into it, her hair will remain dry. Even though she didn't get her hair in the right way it still stayed a lot dryer than it would normally have gotten. Love that it glides over her hair and doesn't stick or pull her hair. She loves the bright pink color. UPDATE: Downgraded this to two stars because the third time she used this it ripped. I expected a lot more from Speedo. Have ordered The Friendly Swede Silicone Long Hair Swim Caps (2 Pack), Hot Pink, Purple and will review them when they arrive. 11/16 UPDATE: I ordered this again in pink and blue, the blue one was fine till it got washed in the washer. The new pink one was used for the first time tonight and ripped, not at the seam but at the top. I don't know if there is a problem with the pink color, but I'm done with these Speedo caps.

This is sized properly for my 10 and 12 year old daughters to wear for their competitive swimming, and works just as well as Speedo's adult swim caps have worked for me for years. Silicone is durable, and flexible enough that she can get it on by herself without tearing the cap. I'd recommend that if your child needs a swim cap that you shouldn't even bother with the latex caps, because until you learn how to put the cap on with some skill they are very easy to tear. Latex also is rougher on your hair - like putting a rubber band on your head. Silicone is softer and definitely the way to go. Speedo makes a good silicone cap, and I've also been happy with their adult sizes. Generally the colors don't fade or yellow in any of the silicone caps I've owned, as long as you rinse the cap with cool water once you get out of the pool, though because the caps last for so long I did once have a white silicone cap that started yellowing after swimming with it 5 days a week for a year. (FYI, critical reviewers: there is no swim cap in the world that is going to keep your hair dry if you go underwater.)

Got this Speedo silicone swim cap for my child a year ago and it fits well without being too tight. Easy to put on and take off, and it stays in place during swim lessons. Durable material and great quality—perfect for young swimmers.

It does pull the hair a little upon removal, but otherwise no complaints. Works well to keep my child’s curly hair dry and it looks very cute!
