I’m really impressed with this radio antenna! Installation was straightforward, and the build quality feels solid and durable. It greatly improved the signal strength on my radio, providing clearer reception and better overall performance. The antenna is compact yet powerful. I purchased this little antenna for my truck and I operate the 440 MHz ham band and also GMRS. The quality is outstanding, and it performs very well. The highest SWR is a 1.3 across the band right out of the package for me so I didn't even bother trimming the whip. It performs very well, and I can hit repeaters at least 20 miles away at times. I love the black color and how short it is too! I have it on a 3 inch mag mount right in the center of the roof on my 4 door pickup. Talk about an excellent ground plane! If you are thinking about buying this antenna don't hesitate. I know I am very pleased with Browning, and I always have been in the past with other Browning antennas I purchased.

I don’t know much about GMRS radios and what makes a good antenna and what are the numbers people talk about but real world shade tree install and just messing around works great. With a 25 watt truck radio talking with a 5 watt portable had about a 2 mile range and that was with some hills and forest. With 2 25 watt radios was getting 5-6 miles. Also went from picking up 1 weather channel I can pick up 2 both about 30 miles away

This was a little bit of a hassle to get, the first one was missing the antenna, I only received the packaging and the alan wrench. Sent a message to Amazon and they sent out the second one, that one arrived with out the whip, just the base. Finally the third time I received a complete antenna and it works great. Would highly this antenna for gmrs and on a UTV.

I checked this with the VNA and shows 1.2 SWR from 420 to 470. Much the same on the NMO mount on my Chevy Silverado. Slight noticeable improvement over 1/4 wave Antenna. It has great looks, with the black finish. Durable, good weatherproof seal on the bottom. Make sure you tighten the Allen screws on the antenna whip. This will be loose when you get it. No need to tune the thing. Check the SWR anyway after you’re finished. I used my bird 43 for the test. Paul in Arizona. K6PPT WRXR619

Ive had this antenna for many years. I use it on ham, gmrs and occasionally to monitor business band. When mounted on center roof with nmo, it performs phenomenal. Theres only one other antenna that does better and its 6X the size.

Tuned right up to a SWR of 1.09. Excellent signal reports. Overall, a solid UHF 1/2 wave antenna.

Perfect for my needs. Throw it on a mag mount, it's tuned, put it on a side-by-side, it's tuned, mount it on your forehead, it's tuned. It is perfect for a portable GMRS/FRS or 70cm radio that is moved from vehicle to vehicle.
