After installing this (easy to do) on an electric scooter, it would not pass enough power along to run the bike. Upon measuring the output, I found that the internal overload device tripped at just under 12 amps, not the 35 amps that is indicated on the unit.Edit: I guesed, later, that there would be some kind of overload adjustment inside the unit. I took the cover off and located two blue components with screws on top. One of them had the label "OL" on the circuit board. Turning the screw on that one allowed me to adjust the overload trip point to 35 amps as the unit advertised. I suppose they are assembled, but not calibrated at the factory. That could also account for the other user whose device failed to trip.So, I put it up to 4 stars, for lack of documentation and quality control. But I like the adjustability.

the only place that i foun around mi home wanted $150 for somthin way smaller. i actually did passed this up and i hade it on mi wish list wen they got it back in stock they sent an email i purchased asap will work great on mi electric gocart.

Claimed to have overload protection, but under dyno-mometer testing the drive did not protect itself from failing when operating in an overload condition, "drive failed". Too little technical information available.

Worked great for the little robot I made that moves my 20ft boat around the yard and in and out of the garage
