Liquitex Professional Acrylic Gouache Paint, 12 x 22ml (0.74-oz), Essentials Set

A wonderful acrylic gouache for professional use, their lightfastness rates beat other brands, this is an important aspect to consider if you sell your work. Consistent opacity throughout all colors, beautiful matte finish and also highly pigmented. The colors in this set are ideal and you can mix pretty much any color from it and then decide which ones to buy in a larger bottle. Good value for money especially for a professional grade paint. Use them with a wet palette as you would with traditional acrylic paint so that they don’t dry too quickly.

Love these paints! All bottles except one were sealed perfectly. The one that was slightly open though did not leak or dry out. The texture is soooo smooth and colors vibrant! A little goes a long way. They dry matte and do not change color like regular acrylics which usually dry darker. I still varnish with gloss but that’s just my preference. I bought them to try for the strong pigments and creamy texture. If you want to try acrylic gouache or you like acrylics in general I’d highly recommend. I also bought the turner set previously. Between the two I actually prefer these to Turners. But both are great.

Another one of Karen Campbell's fabulous how to Art Books. This is a great value and packed with valuable drawing and watercolor information. Karen Campbell's Art Books are all a "must have". I've never been disappointed when received one of her "Awesome Art Books".

I had low expectations going in, but was surprised and won over. The paint doesn't clump, gum or give me trouble - it is wet for a long time (although I live in a high humidity area) and very opaque allowing for exceptional line quality. The finish is matte, but not a bad matte like kids craft paint, it looks professional. Would be perfect for high-detail work, lettering etc. A little goes a long way. I was surprised at how small the bottles were but I only used a couple of drops out of each container and despite being so fluid were quite opaque and the paint went very far. It almost works like ink. These are fun paints, would be good over the top of regular acrylic to place in fine detail.

The yellow is a bit transparent and you’ll have to use more of it, but other than that all other colours are very pigmented. It dries velvety and matte too, the main similarity to acrylic is how it works when the paint is still wet. Treat it like acrylic and you’ll have no problems with it.

If you are used to a screw top, you will try to use these like that for awhile. It takes some getting used to being a pop top but I love it! I almost dumped the entire bottle a few times before getting the muscle memory. But if the review is for the paint alone, it is seriously amazing paint. I wish I could get more colors. I bought a Raw Sienna separately since this 12pk does not have a raw sienna and it's one of my most used colors. I love the paint, i love the bottle, it's great. I wish I could find these bottles empty and fill them with my holbein acryl gouache.

I love how matte these paints dry. They are opaque and cover other colors very well. Because it is acrylic gouache, it doesn't reactivate the dry colors like normal gouache, which is handy if you want to avoid mudding up the colors. I bought the set of six 55mL primaries for $33 which is about $10 cheaper than any other place I've seen and half the list price, so I am quite happy with what I paid.

I love how this paint handles, and the coverage is really good. The matt finish is really lovely, and great for using alone, or in mixed media projects. I've been using these paints for small illustrations in a sketchbook, and they are perfect for that purpose. The bottles are also really convenient to use, and it's easy to get out a small amount of paint with no wastage.

The colours are vibrant and the containers are sturdy. Its a small amount of paint, but I expected that. This is a good way of getting the smooth and bold gauche colours qhile having a sturdy and waterproof meduim. I use it together with my acrylic to really make things interesting. 10/10 exactly what I was looking for.

Gouaches dai colori vibranti, davvero belli. Asciugano molto, molto velocemente, forse anche più dei classici acrilici, per cui si vuole mescolarli e lavorare con le sfumature è indispensabile avere una wet palette per non sprecare colore (una volta asciutto, diversamente dalle classiche gouaches, non si riattiva più ed è da buttare). Basta anche una di quelle fatte in casa con un piccolo contenitore ermetico tipo Tupperware (la spiegazione si trova senza problemi su you tube). Le adoro.
