Good quality wood. I bought it because the Amazon description states that the paints are non-toxic. It does not say so on the packaging, so I hope the paint is really non-toxic.

I bought this one and the big jigs one for a friends toddler as i couldn't decide been then, and this was much better. The advantage of the big jigs is it has a box to keep it tody in. But it turned out not to be a problem with this one because I kept dinner on the chopping board and some one play saucepans. The veges can be chopped up but not into too many pieces which means less chance of losing a piece and easier for me to help my toddler put it back together to chop again.I bought it for my 22 month old and thought she may be a little young, but she really enjoys chopping with me and then she carries the pieces to her play cooker and puts in a saucepan to make dinner! Then we do it all over again. She loves it.

My little girl loves this wooden fruit and veg set. It is really well made and looks like it will last a nice long time. We play with it every day. Very reasonable price for the quality and the velcro is a nice addition.
