Dry: Delicious Handcrafted Cocktails and Other Clever Concoctions―Seasonal, Refreshing, Alcohol-Free Review: Beautiful and Interesting Recipes - This is a gorgeous book. What I love about it is every drink has a full color photo. I love seeing what the drink will look like and it makes a fun read. The cover is just nice looking with the shimmery letters and looks awesome on the coffee table. I like that the drinks are so varied- some do call for interesting ingredients but if you've recently given up alcohol like I have and you did appreciate exotic cocktails you'll be thrilled to find non-alcoholic versions, with bitters and shrubs ect. There are also simple recipes too, virgin bloody mary's and drinks made with common citrus fruits like lemons and limes. I'm excited to try the warm drinks with apple and cinnamon once fall comes around. I love to entertain and will be using this book a lot. I think the relaxing idea of sitting on a porch and sipping a summery drink can be achieved with these non-alcoholic versions- with only positive results. Highly recommend. Review: Fun and delicious - I love this book. Yes it takes more time to squeeze a blood orange and some limes than it does to pour a glass of wine, but that’s part of the appeal for me—I feel I am preparing something special for myself. And then the taste is special as well. I’ve probably made half the recipes by now, and I’ve enjoyed every one. The syrups are easy to make-ahead and store—a few minutes on a weekend—and the ingredients are in my garden, my regular midwestern grocery store, or good ol’ desertcart. Really this is a joy of a book.

Simple and complicated at the same time
I was super excited to get this book since I recently quit drinking but I was disappointed. The recipes were really just basic drinks with the alcohol removed or replaced with a non alcoholic alternative, which I could figure out on my own. Also many of the drinks had way too many ingredients so I would have to shop and spend a lot of money for a single drink. With that said, it did give me some options to consider when I want to be fancy.

Excellent Alcohol Alternatives
My wife's been looking for alternatives to alcoholic cocktails. She's loving this book, and has made a number of cocktails and simple syrups from it. It fit's well with our DIY mindset. Thanks to Clair Liardet.

Buy this book to suck the fun out of drink making
My general rule for cooking or drink making is less than 6 ingredients, and 4 is ideal. This book exceeds that on virtually every recipe. Impractical.

Decent But Annoyingly Virtuous
This little book has a few decent recipes, but oh my god the self-righteousness! Every single drink is "healthy" with "antioxidants" or even worse, "chock full of vitamins." Yuck. The absolute last place I want to encounter the whole food-as-virtue nonsense is in a book about cocktails. Cocktails are all about indulgence, decadence, and food-as-pleasure, and removing the alcohol shouldn't equal removing the fun, or indeed removing the whole point. If you want health smoothies, you'll buy a book about health smoothies, right? Julia Bainbridge's "Good Drinks" is a much better choice.
