Works great, ~50 sessions without issue
Has worked on over a dozen different UV-5Rs and probably 50 programming sessions. Drivers are no less of an issue than any other serial adapter.

Best value radio programming cable
Best value I could find on this website for $6.I had to manually download drivers, you just have to google PL2303 drivers and you download them from Prolific. It worked perfectly to program my Baofeng T26 FRS radios with CHIRP. I just had to continuously press down on the cable into the radio but that is the fault of the radio.

Crashes USB service on Windows
Update - The manufacturer saw my original negative review and offered a refund even though the order was passed its return date. ** So the seller definitely stands behind its products. ** Perhaps I just got a bad cable.Original Review - As soon as CHIRP download begins from UV-5R all USB ports stop functioning. Appears Windows is protecting itself from a defective cable. My Yaesu CHIRP cable works perfectly with my Yaesu HT. You get what you pay for.

Whatever you do, don't buy this programming cable!
I purchased this programming cable as a middle-of-the-road option. I thought the fact that it was not the cheapest thing out there and that it has Baofeng's logo printed on it meant I shouldn't have any issues with it. Boy, was I WRONG!!!This cable is a clone...which means it is most certainly NOT a Baofeng product. The label on it is a lie. This was uncovered because the device drivers Windows has won't work. That's because Windows wants to talk to a genuine chipset and this clone isn't a genuine chipset and won't work using the drivers that are supposed to go with it. Perhaps you can get it to work...some others here apparently have...but this leads us to another BIG warning sign in my opinion. In the listing it says that if you want to install it you have to email them for the drivers and the program. Well, if they know you are going to need the drivers (because it's a clone and NOT the real thing) then why not just include a piece of paper with the link to the file in the shipment? Would it be that hard? But no, you have to waste your time emailing them to ASK for the link to the file. So, by the time you figure out this cheap knock-off won't work, even with the doctored drivers that come in an .exe file that you don't know what the crap its actually doing in the background, you've wasted 3-4 days with them telling you to follow the directions that don't make sense and in the end won't work on a normal system. I happen to work in IT and if I can't get it to work on a standard Win 10 system then something is WRONG.Yes, I just spent the last 15 minutes writing a poor review because I'm that frustrated with these people. If you KNOW I'm going to need the link...why make me ask for it?!?!? I'm sending mine back and I'm going to buy a genuine one that has the FTDI chip in it. You should too.Arrggghhhh!
