This is a real handy item. It is easy to install, and operates smoothly. Took 15 minutes to install, although I would suggest that you pre-drill the holes for better alignment. I can lift the lid while the box is stationary against the side of the truck bed, and it swings out over the tailgate with ease. My retractable tonneau cover is not in the way at all. I gave this box five stars even though it came damaged. There was a big crack in the lid. I did not notice the crack until I had installed the box, as the cracked lid was not an impediment to its installation. But, as it lifts right off its hinges, when the replacement box arrives I can just lift the broken box off its hinges and install the new one in about 30 seconds. There was no problem in ordering a replacement box for the broken box. You might want to get the box's inside measurements. I was hoping to store my tool case in there but the tool case was too big. My trailer hitch and insert (23 pounds) fit in the box with space left over. It seems incredible, but the darned thing will probably hold 75 pounds. I am evaluating whether I should buy one for the other side. It is a bit pricy considering the amount it holds, but it will hold a lot of tools, and would have held my tool box had the tool box been configured differently. The replacement arrived today, safe and sound. It took less than a minute to exchange the boxes, including unloading my trailer hitch. I still highly recommend, and caved in and bought one for the other side. Arrives in four days.

Good price, great product so far. Customer service isn't all that great though. Very easy to install. I found out that the pair that I purchased didn't have matching locks. I tried to find where I could purchase matching locks on their site... nothing like that even offered. I sent an email asking how to get them. They said that they would ship them out free of charge. Over 5 weeks later and two emails... no locks and no email reply to the last request. I even offered to purchase them if they would only show me how or just plain take my money and ship them. I hope the cases hold up as I can see no help from their customer service down the road. No longer eager to purchase the tonneau cover from them now. After third contact I received my keyed alike locks, free of charge. Easy to change out and they work great! Dec 15 update... LOVE THESE THINGS!!! They are the best fit for me and allow the most flexibility of any truck cargo storage design that I have ever had or seen before. I go through the car wash once a week... every week since June 15, never a leak. They hold just enough and they are easy to remove at a second's notice. The only down sides I have seen so far are that they do interfere with built in cargo ties downs near tailgate and they do block the light from the LEDs under my bed rails so you cannot see into the compartments with the bed lights at night. I can work around that. BEST TRUCK ACCESSORY PURCHASE I HAVE MADE SO FAR! 6 Feb 16 Update - Found the only real product flaw that I have seen so far. The locks will let water in (even with those flip up covers) and when the temps drop below freezing you cannot unlock them. Broke a key like it was made of cardboard finding this out. The locks should be side mounted to stop water from settling in them.

This fits perfect and is just the storage space we needed. The lock is perfect and the plastic is durable.

I was initially apprehensive about using a plastic tool box, but many of the aluminum ones out there in my price range are so thin that they bend and dent with ease. This box feels solid and isn't as flexible as some of the plastic "across the bed" tool boxes I have had in the past. The design is innovative, and installation is a snap. My chevy required me to put a couple of blocks under the toolbox during installation to get it to the right height. It required no adjustment to latch properly on the first swing. The design of it loses one star because you will need to purchase a separate padlock to keep the entire toolbox from being stolen. That means that whenever you want to use it, you will need to have two separate keys. If future designs could integrate a lock using the same key or a release that requires the lid to be unlocked also, that would help. UPDATE: After a year of use, this thing is still going strong. I had to add some oil to the latch mechanism to make it latch easy, but if it is supposed to move, you have to lube it once in a while. Just make sure you use something that is safe for plastics. I keep some large D rings, cargo straps, a small amount of chain, and other accessories I use for towing trailers in it, so it stays loaded and has held up well. I hope this helps!

I installed this in the bed of my 2016 Sierra 1500 extended cab. Installation was simple, but I found it helpful to cut some wood spacers to position it. The instructions didn't tell what drill bit to use for the screw holes (I guess they assume that the screws will drill themselves in--I didn't trust that). I used a 5/32" bit. The instructions could have been clearer, but most of the installation is intuitive. The pivot and lock mechanisms work smoothly. It doesn't have massive capacity, but enough to clear out some of the interior clutter.

Got this for my ‘07 Silverado 2500 HD. Shipped to me quickly. Packaging was a bit roughed up but contents were perfect. After I found the correct installation guide (SC100P), installation was a snap. Took less than 30 min to actually install it. There are installation videos on YouTube as well. I’d recommend reviewing both the guide and video prior to install. I’m liking it so far. We’ll see how it does with time and use. Recommend this item.

Another quality product from real truck. Bought a pair of these to go under my tonneau cover. They work great. Have had them for close to a year with no issues.

So where to start! 1. Original posting didn't say anything about a specific vehicle, bought this for a 2017 frontier. And made it fit. 2. Had to cut to fit in my truck. 3. HIGH QUALITY METAL IS USED IN THIS! 4. MADE it fit a 2017 frontier. It will work if you know what you're doing and cut a few pieces off get some self tappers, and some silicone to fill in holes it can work! 5. Even cutting parts still made it swing able and removable. Overall it's pretty good. There's not a lot of storage but it works for a small amount of tools and a few odds and ends! Highly recommend!

Excellent product I used it for my GMC Sierra 2012. The nuts are low quality tents to break or get loos. Make sure to do it partial manual-screwing at the end for some control over the drill-screwing all the way in OR to use a better quality screws instead.

For the product it’s a bit expensive but seem to be a quality product. Really easy to install and work perfectly. Will probably buy the other side later this year. For amazon, I own a Sierra 2016 and after some research, cannot found any model that fit my truck. I went on the factory website, took the code of the right model than search it on amazon, found it and amazon said to me the model will not fit my truck. When i receive it, i fit perfectly. Thanks

Bought this one because it was easy to remove full of tools. I have a slide in camper so the tool box has to be removed from time to time. Stores a decent amount of stuff. It is very easy to pivot to get things out. The locking mechanism is solid and simple to use. Great buy.
