Excellent Fruit Preserves
One of the best Preserves Company out there. I have tried a lot of their flavors, and all of them are great.

Damson Plum is delicious
I tried three flavors (Damson Plum, Black Currant, and Orange Marmalade) and by far the Damson Plum is my fave flavor. The only downside is that I could not enjoy the entire jar because once I got to about an inch of the bottom of the jar, it had crystallized. There's way too much sugar in these jams (in my opinion). Yes, it was delicious, but how do I prevent the crystallizing of the jam? It tastes so gross at that stage. I don't eat a lot, I only like a minimal amount of jam on my bagel. Even so, it should last longer in the fridge. Edit: I just discovered that my local Walmart carries this Damson Plum from Tiptree for $4.94, which is great! Edit 2/7/22: Just wanted to update my review on my original statement that the jam crystallized before I could finish it. Apparently that only happened once (the first jar on which I based my original review). I’ve since bought more jars and it’s never happened again. Make sure you close the lid tightly after use and that you only use a dry utensil to get your jam out of the jar. Don’t use a wet one. So far this works. Still one of my favorite flavors, Damson Plum.

Nice Flavor, but Very Thick
Growing up, my grandmother had plum trees lining the back of their property and every year she would make plum jam from her 'harvest'. On the rare occasion when I can find plum jam or preserves, it usually is lacking in flavor. When I saw this, I remembered her calling them ""Damsoms", so I ordered a jar. Well, this does have more of the flavor I recall, but this stuff is way too thick to spreadable. I ended up mixing it with peanut butter which made it a little smoother- or maybe the correct word would be looser? I won't buy it again.

Recipe necessity
Perfect in every way for a recipe I like to routinely make for guests and family members. Can't find it locally in any grocery store or specialty store. Arrived well packed.

Really great flavor
I used to make my own damson plum preserves with fruit I bought from a local man's tiny fruit stand. The plums he sold were great, really flavorful. My mom said the preserves I made with those damson plums were just like what she'd had while growing up. Unfortunately, the gentleman I bought the plums from passed away and his widow said she didn't garden or sell the fruit any longer. I've been buying different brands of damson plum preserves for years, trying to find one that had the flavor of whatever the special damson plums were I used to buy to no avail, until now. These preserves come really close. My mother agreed, these preserves are really tasty, seriously almost like homemade. If you love damson plums and/or damson plums preserves you should buy these preserves. They are really really good. These preserves spread on buttered toast or a nice hot biscuit accompanied by a cup of hot tea or coffee is a great way to start your day off on a good happy note. A real bonus was that these preserves were very reasonably-priced compared to what I have paid for other damson plum preserves.

Too sweet for me
Decent quality, but I found the jam way too sweet. Was hoping for a deeper, more sour flavor. I grew up in Eastern Europe and am forever looking for foods that taste more “natural”. This jam has a robust, smokey plum flavor, but it’s still too flat and sweet, in my opinion. The consistency is right, it is not too Jello-like, and has proper texture. I mix in a tiny bit of lemon juice before spreading it on toast. I would recommend this brand overall, it’s just that my personal preference is for less sweet preserves, something that tastes more like real fruit rather than syrup.

Has a perfect tartness, not too sweet
I've never had plum preserve before. I had just ordered some welsh cakes (also something new I was trying) and was told it tastes best with a preserve. I'm not usually one for preserves, jams or jellies but I thought I might find something inexpensive. That way if I didn't like it, no big loss. I came across this one and even though I was a bit leery of the "too sweet" reviews because I don't like overly sweet stuff, I ordered it anyway. Glad I did! This has a nice plum flavor that has a slight tartness to it. There is some sweetness but I don't get a sugary sweet from it at all. I honestly wouldn't eat it if that was the case. My husband, who loves all things sweet, even said this wasn't very sweet to him. He still liked it though. I put it on my welsh cakes and it was delicious! It was easy to spread and an excellent price. I will definitely purchase this again.
