Not a good idea
Not smooth as original nib that comes with pen. Lamy sell second grade nib that force us to buy a new pen instead of new nib. I ordered 2 nib.. One from amazon and one from williamoen. net .. Both of them are scratchy, cannot be compared to the nib that comes with the pen.

I also have the same nib in black fine, steel fine and steel medium. The steel medium writes more like a medium and the black medium.

Lamy make superb nibs. This is a replacement for one I damaged after dropping my pen. The first one was perfect and this replacement is perfect. Lamy has a reputation as one of the best fountain pen manufacturers and deservedly so.

First time replacing a nib so I had to watch a youtube video but it was easy (using a piece of tape) and the nib fit perfectly and writes much smoother than a finer size.
