Worth five stars!
This product came wrapped in bubble wrap, packed in a stiff box. It seems like a minor detail, but the packaging was more than worth the shipping. The price couldn't be beat, literally. I found one other site with this keyboard and it was priced at four times this amount! It does not come with instructions, but IF YOU NEED THEM, THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS: You need two small, flathead screwdrivers.First, make sure to turn off the power and remove the battery!Along the interior of the keyboard, above the function keys (F1-12 etc) there are several tabs. Slide one screwdriver into one tab and under and move onto the next. After one half of the board comes loose, slide the second screwdriver under the board to keep it from getting locked back beneath the tabs, and continue releasing the tabs on the rest of the board with the first screwdriver. Lift it out, and follow the cable to the white connector. Use your fingernails to grasp either side of the white connector, and slide it out with a gentle motion. Dispose of the old board, and slide the new boards cable into the connector. Reconnect the white connector, BE GENTLE, and push down on the keyboard until it pops under all of the tabs. Done!As a further note, I didn't think it was worth taking off a star, but the F7 key isn't marked for turning off your mouse pad. If you hold FN+F7 it will still function as it would before. No complaints at all on this product. I was using the original with a duct-tape rigged space bar, and when this was installed, it was like having the brand new computer again!

Like having a NEW laptop in under 10 minutes!
this is EXACTLY like my original keyboard, and was embarrassingly easy to install. i watched the video link that someone had posted in an earlier comment, did exactly what was shown. popped out my old keyboard with an eyeglass screwdriver without having to unscrew ANYTHING, disconnected the contact strip and put the new one in reverse order. the keyboard is flexible and fully contained, so you dont have to worry about scratching anything or loosening something up. then once you get the strip back in (it's a little bit tough to get the skinny black 'holder' back in, since it's so tight that i would up bending a teeny piece of mine off, but it didn't hurt the tension) you just snap the keyboard onto the top and that's it.i took the opportunity to clean the edges of the opening and surrounding area with a toothpick and little toothbrush while the keyboard was out, so when it was back, it was as if i had a NEW laptop. mine was missing 4 keys and had so much dust and foodstuffs under the sticky keys, a new one was long overdue.it's worth the $14 i spent, and there's no need to have anyone do it for you. just watch the video and spend 10 minutes.

Great Replacement
I own an Acer 5750G laptop, and it's old keyboard was washed up in coffee the other day. I managed to save the laptop from death, but the keyboard suffered. The keys would not work properly, and so it was time to get a new keyboard. The price for a new replacement was too high on Acer's site, so I looked here. Ordered one from Eathtek on Thursday, and my replacement arrived on Tuesday (five days). The replacement had some faults though. The F7 key is messed up quite a bit. For those who don't know, the F7 key is the key that turns the trackpad on and off. It works no problem, it's just the physical mechanics that make the key "pop" back up that is a bit messed up. It's something I can deal with, no worries.Installation was quick and easy, and I am currently using the replacement now.I am glad with the purchase!

good but not great
I needed to replace my keyboard because my cats had apparently used my laptop as a scratching post while I slept one night. I awoke to five keys scattered on floor around my desk. This keyboard was one of the first ones I saw that worked for my model of laptop, so I got it.The fit was perfect; it took less than five minutes to switch out the keyboard. it looks just like the old one, and all keys are in the same location. For the most part, it works the same - same touch receptivity, same 'weight' of keys.I went to three stars for two reasons: one, the keys don't always register (especially delete and shift), so I need to be vigilant to be sure my typing has shown up on the screen. And two, the keyboard came with a broken '0' key, which is only connected on one side, on the number pad. Now, I don't use the number pad so this is basically cosmetic for me. But still disappointing. If I was a number pad user, this would be completely unusable and require replacement.Summary: ideal replacement by fit and feel, but you may be taking your chances on complete functionality.

Not exactly what it looks like in the image
Keyboard was affordable, came quickly, fit just fine, and worked like it should. The only thing that prevents 5 stars is that the finish on the keyboard I received is not exactly as shown in the image. The keyboard I was replacing had a sort of "matte" finish to the surface which is a more updated look and most new laptops have. The one I received here had a shiny finish. Not a deal breaker, but not ideal. I would have preferred the other finish, and while I might have compromised on that, I would rather that the image showed me the shiny keyboard I was really going to get so that I could make an informed buying decision in advance. Once I got the keyboard, it didn't seem worth it to send it back.

Beware: Stopped functioning properly.
After 4 months, the letter V stopped functioning. I cleaned the keyboard, checked for sticking, reinstalled the OS drivers, and I have removed and re-seated the keyboard ribbon. Nothing worked. There is hardware problem that I am not able to fix.I've reinstalled the old keyboard. Had to replace a missing key with an unnecessary one, but it works unlike this Eathtek model.Trying to contact the manufacturer, but I don't think that's going to work for a non-Acer keyboard.
