Not at all what I expected. I could barely get the cylindrical shipping container open before the smell became unbearable and was extremely difficult to wash off my hands. The odor I was greeted to inside the case was more of a cheap "old lady" perfume (not a hint of sandalwood) that was strong enough to stop a freight train. UPDATE: About 3 weeks ago, I received a package from Amazon and was surprised to find another bottle of the sandalwood essential oil. This time, I was very pleased to open it and smell REAL sandalwood! I'm not sure if the first one I received was just a single bad one or part of a bad batch, but by sending me an unsolicited replacement at no cost, Alphrodith has made things right. It's true you only get one shot at a first impression, but doing the right thing leaves a lasting impression.

This is better than expected. I dab it directly on skin then put Rose absolute essential oil on top. It , for unknown reasons, sends me into a beautiful sleep. I was a distributor for one of the essential oil companies in the U.S. for a few years . I was disillusioned that 1. I was spending hundreds of dollars every month and for the money they should ALL be organic 2. As a distributor they expected a commitment to use this as a business . 3. They were really into it for the hustle Finally gout a UK place that sells ONLY organic essential oils and dropped out as a great distributor . So when I say this small s very good, it’s from one who’s studied E.O’s, purchased from different sources, etc. ~ you’ll like it. Makes for a good base with lots of other essential oils...or wear alone. The smell of Sandalwood can varying from region to region of where it’s raised , etc. I like 👍🏼 this one as well as others!

Seller responded pretty quickly .. verifying this oil is from India and steem distilled. It smells strong and legit.i am satisfied

Upd.: After I wrote my first review the customer service of the company contacted me. They sent me another bottle of sandalwood oil and I do like it. I don’t know what was wrong with the first oil I’ve got, but the second is really good. It smells sandalwood and I enjoy the scent coming from my diffuser. I really like the scent and it’s very nice of the company to contact not satisfied customer and to try to resolve the problem. Now I have the scent I really wanted and I will buy here again. I like when companies care. The scent is so poor that I could say there is no scent.

Second purchase, so I decided to completely re-do my review. I previously gave 4 stars and my last review mentioned having doubts that this was the real thing, despite enjoying the scent. After prolonged use in making cologne, and testing against other brands (including brands that I can verify are the real thing), I can say that this oil is the real deal. Not only is it real sandalwood, but it's a good one. You can imagine my skepticism due to the price. I'm not sure how you can offer up real sandalwood oil for this price, but please keep doing so, and I will continue to buy it. Fantastic stuff.

No scent of sandalwood, but of a light perfume scent much more floral and synthetic. The product claims to be 100% essential Indian sandalwood oil. It is not. Whatever the scent is, it’s pleasant, but it’s not sandalwood.

Not the scent I expected. If you're looking for the scent you get from sandalwood incense, this isn't it. That being said, this doesn't smell awful. It's like something woody, but not quite what I wanted. The scent is pretty weak, though. I mixed it with a bit of cedar and the sandalwood was completely overpowered, no matter the ratio. I still use it without any other scents as a laundry freshener (since we use unscented laundry detergent), and it's not bad for that. It's not bad enough to return, but I probably wouldn't buy this again. Either spend more on a better quality, or stick with incense.

I absolutely love this blend of sandalwood. It is extremely fragrant and enveloping. I use it in my diffuser at night, and I believe that my quality of sleep has improved. My bedroom now has a permanent hint of sandalwood, and whenever I come home from work and enter my bed room, I recognize the familiar aroma and, somehow it puts a smile on my face. I started using sandalwood a few months ago, after I saw it on sale at a depot type store. Previously, I only used lavender. Well, this brand is absolutely superior to the cheap one that I had tested. I didn’t realize, until trying this version, that sandalwood is reminiscent of a unisex cologne, except it is never overbearing, and it is calming. Second, I’d say that sandalwood trumps lavender, but I still mix them anyway. I will definitely rebuy this product from this seller.
