Ramtex Fibers Black Doux Cotton Velvet Fabric By The Yard

Much too thick/heavy; the odd thing is it's called UG-511...same cat# I bought from another online fabric store. Nowhere near that "old" UG511. No idea if they're related at all though.

I used this fabric to "frame" quilt squares made from my husband's old ties. The tie fabrics were satins, silks, and wools. They needed expensive-looking sashing, and this fit the bill perfectly. The quilt top is spectacular.

I made two large (26" square) pillow covers from this cotton velvet fabric. It's a thin, but dense material in a true black color (no brown or blue tinges). It attracts lint and dust, so the fabric is best used for decorative purposes. The price is competitive. Most important, this is 100% cotton velvet fabric. Most velvet is synthetic, so I was pleased to find an affordable, quality cotton velvet. But remember, it attracts lint!!

Very nice velvet. Has some other fabric mixed in but mostly cotton. Nice dark black. No hint of green or blue. Will make a great hat.

Usnig this to absorb light in a camera calibration setup - this is dark, but not as dark as a true black velvet and reflects indecent light significantly.
