This is the absolute best shave cream I have ever had. I’ve been a user of Edge for several years and I didn’t think anything could compare to it. The Jack Black shave, cream allows me to shave closer in my face to end up smoother than with any product I’ve ever had. I swear by it!

Gives my thick, coarse beard a smooth, close, comfortable shave with no irritation. Superior to Cremo or Proraso (which frankly has gone way downhill). Leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized. No need for pre or post shave treatment. No scent to like or dislike. Easy to use with a brush: dip the brush into the tub, lather it on your face. Requires very little cream; I expect to get several months of daily shaving from one tub.

I found my new permanent shave cream! This product is a little pricey but well worth it! I got a better, closer, less irritation shave than with my previous shaving soap. Keep in mind this is not a soap but a cream, so it does not seem to later up and produce foam like a soap. It also seems to hold more water than a shave soap: takes more water to use with a brush than my previous shave soap. The scent is very faint, almost unnoticeable to me, probably because my previous shave soap had a strong sandalwood scent. It is pricey, but keep in mind, its a very large container, 9.5 oz, most other shave soaps/creams are 5 or 6 oz. This product paired with a Feather Blade - best shave ever!

I'm always excited to use a new shave cream to see how it glides, smells, and performs with my razors. I do have to say, this Jack Black shaving cream definitely is up there in terms of performance. HOWEVER, you need a shave brush to maximize its potential. Long story short, I've always tried to use this shave cream just with my hands and applying it directly to my face. It's great, but it can be a bit drying and it would occasionally give me slight burns and tugging on my razor. I eventually gave in and used a small bowl and synthetic brush to lather it up and apply it on my face. Without surprise, the cream works wonderfully and the glide and protection I received is unmatched like any other creams I've tried. Yes, it is advertised as a possible brushless cream, but do yourself a favor and work that wonderful lather this cream can provide with a brush! I also want to mention that I have fairly sensitive skin as well and this works wonderfully as soon as I implemented the brush.

So I like to get the negatives out of the way first. This stuff sticks to your face. Or wherever else you use it I presume, I only shave my face though. It really stays there. Which might be why it keeps me from getting cuts and ingrown hairs. It really protects your skin to the point where it sometimes feels over protective. Like a helicopter parent or jealous partner. It takes way longer to rinse off my blade when shaving as well as rinsing off my face because it is so gum-like. I traded skin injury (skinjuries?) for extended shave times. Usually a little more than 20 min to shave now. This is ok when I have time to shave at my leisure but I hate shaving and only do it for work because I have to and for making sure my woman doesn't look like a bear mauled her neck when I love up on her (apparently my facial hair is scratchy). Thanks to Covid I have to shave way more frequently to wear face masks properly at work so this extended shave time is incredibly annoying. The positives I mentioned a bit already I guess, but let me expand a little. Way less mini shave cuts and razor burn for me. I mean they are almost non existent. Fyi, I use a safety razor because I get ingrown hairs with those multi blade razors. The safety razors made ingrowns a thing of the past but then I started getting mini cuts; which are a decent trade off since they heal way faster. So yeah the positives outweigh the negative overall. And when I'm done shaving my skin is softer and smoother than it was when I used other products. In conclusion, your skin should feel more pampered than standard shave cream but ready a podcast or audiobook while you shave, you're gonna be in there a while.

I've tried a lot of shaving creams. This is by far the best! Great lubrication, smooth, clean, comfortable shave. Results in way less razor burn than Gillette foamy. You need to have a shaving brush to use this. I highly recommend the Viking brush.
