Wine EnthusiastU Wine Decanter

The pour is very smooth and the hump in the bottom is nice when you notice the wine already aerating when the wine is poured in from the bottle. This is my 3rd different decanter in the past 10 years, I tend to break them when washing, and it is my favorite yet. If this one breaks I will order the exact one again.

Let’s face it — sometimes the cork is dry. Or you’re sloppy opening a bottle and you get cork bits in your wine. Couple a fine mesh funnel with this decanter and your embarrassment is transformed into a positive conversation. This decanter’s simple, elegant design complements any decor and because it’s so easy to clean, we’ve found ourselves using it every time we open wine to allow it to breathe. It’s a great addition at a very fair price.

I am amazed at how much better a wine tastes when it's decanted. We've used it most with younger less expensive wines to help them have a richer, more full bodied taste. The decanter is a nice design that's easy to clean. Ours had a teeny tiny chip in the rim, but we just use it anyway. Really improves the taste of wine!

This decanter strikes a nice balance of elegance and sturdiness. I don't want a klunky feeling decanter, but it can't be so fragile that I will be afraid of it breaking. This decanter meets the need.

It does the job for a $20 lead-free glass decanter. It is however slightly thin glass which sometimes I fear I might break it.It is exactly what you expect for that money and as long as you get it in one piece like I have then no problems at all. It hold wine, what more do you want?Con: Reason I dropped a few stars is because nowhere in the reviews anyone seems to have mentioned that this is not crystal. Wine Enthusiast does not say crystal, the packaging does not say crystal and it definitely does not feel nor cost like crystal. It is packaged as "Lead-Free Glass". Seems misleading. The rest of the reason is basically because its a "meh" kinda buy, I needed a quick solution and it was exactly what I expected for the money.

This piece looks great on the table & the clear glass shows off the wine. Large bottom dimple helps to capture stray lees.

I liked the fact that I now can appropriately aerate red wines that need to breathe some before drinking. I had a carafe at home, but wanted one for our cabin.

This is my second full-size decanter. The first one is very wide and heavy, and harder to pour; you have to tilt it a lot more because it's so wide near the bottom. This one is easier to store in the cupboard because its less wide, and is easier to pour. And it's glass, not crystal, and less expensive so there's less worry in using it. The only drawback is that less surface area of wine is exposed to air or touching the inside of the decanter (which promotes breathing of the wine).
