Vegan Chocolate - Ombar 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate (70g x 10 Bars) Organic, Fair Trade, Dairy Free and Gluten Free Chocolate

This chocolate is a good alternative if you're avoiding cane sugar as well as dairy. It's the only milk chocolate dairy-free alternative I've come across (so far) that doesn't use cane sugar. The texture is quite creamy and indulgent. I really enjoy the flavour but it does have a distinct coconut taste to it if you're not used to it (or if you melt it), owing to the coconut sugar used to sweeten it. So if you don't like coconut, or just don't like it with chocolate, I wouldn't recommend it. (If you've ever partaken in a box of Celebrations and left all the mini Bounty bars at the bottom, it's probably not for you.) Otherwise, give it a try! I have been buying Ombar for some time now but only recently discovered that Amazon sold the Coco Mylk flavour at a very competitive price when compared to the supermarkets and health shops. I was impressed with the saving enough to use 'Subscribe & Save.'

I love so many flavours of the Ombar range and as I'd never seen this in-store, decided to try a 10 pack of the hazelnut. We opened it and I gave a bar to my sister & mother-in-law. So embarrassed! It had bloomed! The flavour was very wishy washy. It was delivered during a hot spell at the end of May. I can only think the reason for it being half price was because of storage issues?? Only just noticed the box is marked "store below 20 degrees", but I haven't had this problem before... My return date has just passed, so I'm not at all pleased. I'm re-reviewing, having just bought a pack of 10 Coco Mylk bars - also on a great offer. This time, no problem at all. It tastes divine - creamy and chocolatey, without the dairy - and certainly hasn't bloomed. So I've upped the original rating from 3 stars, realising that possibly this wasn't a supplier error. Possibly it was where it was stored in my home during warm weather. Definitely something to be aware of.

Tastes insane!!! Very similar to Nutella. I have a lot of food allergies and food intolerances and this works well for me. I just wish they weren’t so expensive as even with buying them in bulk they still cost a lot more than most bars of this quality

These have arrived in poor quality and taste unpleasant with none of the melting “mouthfeel” it should have. The other bars that arrived with it are delicious and just as they should be. It says on my Amazon account these are not eligible for returning - I dont understand why! I would settle for a refund please, they are not cheap and are horrid!

Ombar chocolate is a real treat! It’s raw, so it keeps all the good stuff from cacao. The taste is smooth and creamy, with a rich chocolate flavour that’s just right. I love that it’s made with organic ingredients too, so I know I’m getting something pure and healthy. Whether you like dark or milk chocolate, Ombar has something delicious for you. If you’re looking for a tasty, guilt-free chocolate, Ombar is the way to go. Highly recommend! Amazon tells me I've bought the x10 pack 34 times... safe to say I'm a loyal customer!

Ombar Raw Chocolate Coco Mylk, 70g (Light blue packaging) Pros 1) Vegan, Organic, Fair-trade 2) Nice packaging 3) Apparently healthier Cons 1) Taste is not a 'standard' chocolate taste. It's a bit sour. It tastes ok, but doesn't satisfy my chocolate 'hit' as it doesn't really taste like normal chocolate. 2) Expensive 3) Smaller in size than a standard bar of chocolate- slightly smaller than the size of two post-it notes put together, (from what I remember.) Personally wouldn't buy again because it doesn't taste like conventional chocolate, which is what I was after (a creamy, milky vegan chocolate)
