Expensive but worthy
Used this ladder with an Intex steel frame above the ground pool. Yes, the description says is not compatible with any Intex pool, I decided to use it and makes a world of a difference getting in and out of the pool, even more importantly for older people.Very easy to assemble, very easy to use. The thing floats! no matter what you put inside, sand, small rocks and/or water the internal side of the ladder will float if ladder is not screwed to the pool ring/frame like the manual specifies. However this ladder is better than any other alternative available outside, the ladder provided with the pool, wiggles, moves around and makes everybody watching very nervous. The ladder is really expensive for few pieces of plastic but no other alternative is around, just deal with it and buy it.

Poor Engineering
TLDR: Do not use if you have hollow tubes at the top of your pool frame. Do not order if you have to put it together and have strength, mobility, or dexterity issues, or are not "handy."USAGEI bought this for a disabled family member who has a condition that affects all their joints and makes them dizzy. They describe it as "not any better than the flimsy ladder that came with the pool." I still have to stand at the base of the ladder every time they get in and out of the pool. It's still shaky.BUILD/ INSTALLATIONIt was over 100 degrees out by the time I started putting this together. I had to do it in three different sets on three different days. The first one was about 45 minutes just to get my bearings and build the first set of stairs. The second set took just about as long - when I added the ladder on that half. The third set took a little over an hour to build the other side. Adding it to the pool was a whole other beast, and is not really something a person can or should do alone, especially if you added sand to the base like you're supposed to and then have to try to get it over the top of the pool.It uses several types of screws that are almost identical in length. Unlike other kits that are marked with paint to help you identify what goes where, they just throw them all together in one bag and have you use a crude chart in the instructions. The machining is not clean. You have to go through and cut off excess plastic bits to ensure the pieces go through and to avoid having jagged edges that can cut your liner. The instructions are poorly done. It lumps activities together in paragraph form. I've had an easier time putting together Ikea furniture. The steps come as a flat piece that you have to step on and bend. Heat is your friend, but even still, someone with dexterity or strength issues is not going to be able to do it. Period. What the description does not clarify is that you do need sand, a screwdriver, a wrench, a drill, and drill bits to complete the install.Additionally, you are supposed to drill holes in this and in your pool frame to complete the installation properly. It is NOT compatible with tube-style frames. I did not see this mentioned anywhere, but all their pictures show pools with flat tops. Now I know why. Even if you install it properly, with the little dowels at the right height (into holes you drill) and add the screw that goes down into your pool frame, the top platform still flexes under your weight. That pushes down on your pool frame. Because the ladder platform has a grid pattern on the bottom, the grid connects with your pool frame. I have a Coleman Bestway Power Steel Pool. After a couple of uses, I discovered this grid dented my pool frame deeply, meaning I now have a vulnerable point in my frame, which makes it more susceptible to bending and the frame more susceptible to collapse. In other words, this has compromised the structural integrity of my pool. I will have to remove the ladder and replace that beam before my pool is safe again.FOOTPRINTThis does have a very small footprint, which is nice. However, vacuums cannot get behind it to clean, which means you have to scrub back there manually. Not ideal.SAFETYAs mentioned, this has permanently damaged my pool frame. The primary user does not feel safe using it, either. Also, despite following instructions and tightening things down as best as I could, the screws/bolts that hold the rails in place barely catch and then wind up flush when fully tightened, which might seem ideal, but it's a short screw. We literally had one come completely undone and fall off on the first use.BOTTOM LINEThis might work on flat-top pools, particularly if the person who is installing it is handy and able. But this was a HUGE mistake for us. I will be repairing my pool and replacing it... which stinks because this was an investment for us as it was.

Life Saver. I had shoulder surgery and was having such a hard time getting in and out of the pool - the old ladder would tip when you started climbing - this one has such nice wide steps and is weighted so it stays on the bottom of the pool. I have everything from elderly people to young mothers who are getting in the pool with a baby on their hip. The ease of use and extra safety made this purchase (was expensive) well worth every dollar spent!!!!!!!!!!!

Not as described or reviews there not. Correct or truthful
The media could not be loaded. Totally not worth the money door don’t fit. Latch is to big to attach to poolItem is not as described. Not sturdy. I am stuck with it now cause we set it up took pretty long. It is not for the disable or elderly. Because neither of them can climbthe stair ladder because there too highI bough this in hopes of my two older sister getting into our pool. Other issues is it won’t come apart even to return itI am very unhappy. Totally a waste of money

Count your hardware/ check your pool height before you start
only negative. Missing a few of the hardware. This ladder is good, just make sure your pool is the same exact height inside & out. My pool is buried about 10” in the ground. So different heights. I wanted this ladder & tried to make it work but just could not make it work, with the outside yard height as opposed to the inside pool depth. Just didn’t reach all the way to the bottom of pool on the inside which made it extremely wobbly & not safe and it would kinda bob and make you fall in. If they made it adjustable where you could pick a different length for the inside of pool & outside, it would’ve been perfect !! I’m a bit older 5’2” woman & put this ladder together by myself. Didn’t think i could but i did it !!!! Just needed help putting it over pool edge. 4 1/2 stars

Quality Product
Very pleased with ladder, very stable. It did take me about 6 hours to assemble, but I took my time. The directions are very thorough.

Sturdier than original ladder, NOT for aging parents ar for people with strength issues!
We bought this based on the reviews thinking it would allow my mom to use the pool. She has arthritis and mixed dementia which slowly depletes climbing, walking, etc. abilities. This ladder looked sturdy and the reviews said it allowed people with arthritis to use the pool. This was not the case. The handrails are not supported/strong enough to use as as a support (would bend at about 30 degrees in each direction when being used), once the gate is attached it encroaches on the staircase and one has to adjust their climb, the pitch is not ANY greater than the ladder that came with the pool.It is nice not having to remove the ladder every night as this has a safety latch, but it was not worth our money because my mom can't use the pool.

Great pool stairs!
They are stairs, not a ladder. The width and height makes getting in and out of the pool really easy! Have a locking stair guard is great protection for the grandkids.
