Essential Fatty Acids for your Dog - The Best!
Icelandic Pure makes several fish oils for Dogs and Cats. I cannot recommend them enough. The two I will not buy are: Shark Liver Oil - Let's not kill sharks whether endangered or not. Nutritional values are lowest compared to their other fish oils. Liver may contain mercury and toxins from the sea, and I would not risk it. Salmon Oil - While salmon fish are good to eat, concentrated salmon oil is poorly digested by every life form except Grizzly bears. No point, even though its a good product. Cats and dogs don't digest pure salmon oil well. Neither do humans. Premier Omega Fish Oil - the best they make. Omega-3 values are highest, but so is the price. For 17 oz on Amazon you pay $45. I have not seen a 33 oz on Amazon. It would probably run $80 - $90 and too high for most, but if you can afford it, its great for big dogs with the higher values. Sardine Anchovy Fish Oil - this is my choice. Priced reasonably at $26 for 33 oz, it contains the second highest Omega-3 values. Absolutely the best product for the price in the fish oil options for your pets. No digestion problem, excellent supplement for glossy pet hair, smooth skin, anti-inflammatory for all organs, eye health, heart health, organ health, rich source of vitamins and minerals and Essential Fatty Acids. Buy this! Give all your pets some of this, including reptiles. Within 1 week you will notice shiny, silky soft hair on your cat or dog. Skin irritations are greatly reduced or gone. Eye health is preserved. And your pet will be robust and healthy. I use this for rescued, broken animals that need healing and the best care, as well as my own pets. It is not an option, you need to give this to your pets once or twice daily, as a critical supplement. Keep in fridge, lasts longer and oil does not spoil. 1- 2 squirts in food. By the way, if you are feeding your animals dry food and canned food, please consider nutritious fresh real food such as sardines, ground beef, cooked chicken, veggie stews on top of beef burgers, and real raw bones. Real food is real health. Add supplements like fish oil and you will have a show dog.

Cats & Dogs Are Loving This Together!
Both of our large Nordic Breed dogs enjoy fish, and this product provided the essential fatty acids (EFA), their Vet recommends we use to supplement their dry kibble diet. We've noticed shinier coats, less shedding and the fact our two picky rescue cats seem to love it as well. The older, DLH kitty is happy now with one 'squirt' on her dry food per day and there has been less hacking up of those dreaded hair balls as a bonus to the silkier fur. At first I was hesitant to purchase a product containing anchovies and sardines, worrying about the potential stink factor. Happy to say this stuff really is next to scentless and we are planning to buy more when this runs out. Update: We've recently added another Siberian Husky to our family pack, this one with thicker, wooly coat. Each dog is now getting 3 pumps on their morning kibble, and I am glad to see that even with temperatures currently in mid 80's, their shedding is at an absolute minimum! Huskies are also prone to a particular type of dermatitis, but no unusual scratching or biting seen here. It is further reassuring to know that this high quality product is produced up to pharmaceutical standards. Many may not realize that fish oils are prone to pollutants, especially heavy metals such as mercury. Not an issue here, and another plus is that each teaspoonful contains 727 mg EPA and 498 mg DHA. Colorado State Vet Program has a chart available for suggested supplementation levels of EFA, and it is higher than you might imagine. Iceland Pure is on automatic reorder, a great value for solid benefits.

Dog has no problem with it, bottle slippery though.
I have a pitbull who is allergic to practically everything outside. After many high cost vet visits and an extremely expensive dermatologist visit, I finally decided to give fish oil a try. At first I tried wild Alaskan salmon oil from a different company and boy did that oil stink! My dog wouldn't touch his food and my three cats didn't want anything to do with it either. Fast forward a few months later and I took a chance on this unscented fish oil. There's practically no scent to this, I mean, there's a smell, but it's faint and at least the scent is not of fish. My dog gobbles up his food with three pumps of this oil in his two scoops of no grain food just as he would if nothing were in his it. I'm so happy that he eats his food and is not rejecting this fish oil. My dog's coat is definitely glossy and his fur is less patchy. The oil isn't a miracle worker, however there is a vast improvement! I started seeing results within a month of adding three pumps to his food once a day. I only have two problems with this fish oil and one is not the manufacturer's problem. This causes my dog to go to the bathroom a LOT! Around five times a day and it's not a small amount each time either. My second gripe is that the steel bottle is extremely slippery! My gosh, it's so hard to get a good grip on it, taking it out of the fridge can sometimes keep me in my toes. I will continue to give my dog this fish oil as it is a very wonderful product!

My cats don't mind this oil, it just cost me a lot buying from Canada plus with added shipping when in the states it's half the price. Probably won't purchase again because of the cost.

excellent product and the seller made every effort to ensure that no 'hidden extras' were incurred

My young dog developed kidney failure and wanted to find high end good fish oil! And we’re very satisfied and we’ll spent money.

Took a long time to arrive, but the product is as described. Very little odor. Dog loved it. And she didn’t have any negative skin or tummy problems when introduced. Great alternative for a dog sensitive to salmon oil. Only real negative is the price.

I have given this product a one star, very disappointed as it had rave reviews elsewhere, but the strong smell of the fish, especially anchovy, gets stronger as time goes on and half way through the bottle my dog will no longer eat her food with the oil poured onto it. I would say it is VERY overpriced for what it is, and perhaps you will be paying for the actual bottle and not the quality of the oil. I am also disappointed that this company sells shark oil, since NO MATTER if they are sustainably sourced, Sharks are disappearing from our Oceans and other sources of Omegas should be found to replace Shark Oil. I will not be re-purchasing this product.
