Great headphones for the price
I already have the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 Earbuds - and I love them. While they are lacking a little bit of bass, they sound very analytical and precise. The P100 over-ear headphones, on the other hand, are real bass monsters. They have a very full and deep, sometimes almost disturbing bass. The rest of the sound spectrum is also very good, clear mids, with full voices, and an extended upper spectrum with a very clean resolution. Spatial distribution of instruments is also pretty good, even though other headphones do a bit better in this discipline. Now when comparing the Melomania P100 with some other headphones I own, their limitations become apparent. The noise cancelling is good, but the Apple AirPods Max are way superior (that being said, the comparison is perhaps a bit unfair, as the AirPods sell for twice the price, and are recognized to have probably the best noise cancelling on the market). In some songs, the Melomania P100 seem to lose a bit the overview, and some sounds are simply disappearing (like for example the little "clicking" sounds in Björk's "Hyper-Ballad") - probably the bass is overshadowing too much the rest of the music. The AirPods, my Bowers & Wilkins P7x S2 and also my Sennheiser Momentum 3 and even my Bang & Olufsen H9 3rd gen are doing much better here - but all of these headphones are significantly more expensive. Overall, however, the Melomania P100 are a very pleasant set of headphones, and definitely worth the money, especially when you are looking for a "bass-head"-type headphone. And did I mention that they are also comfortable to wear, good looking and feature an unbeatable battery life...?

Great value for the money
I was looking for over the ear replacements for my AirPods Pro’s, after a lot of research someone recommended these to me. For daily driver use, the P100 is a great choice. They aren’t too heavy on the head and they don’t squeeze the head too hard. They come with a nice hard side case, which is nice but could be a little bulky for travel. A slimmer travel option would be a nice addition even if purchased separately. Also included is 2 cables USB-C->USB-C and USB-C->3.5mm. The earcups, made from vegan leather, are pretty comfortable and easily replaceable. They can make my head a little sweaty if it’s a little warm out. I haven’t seen any different materials for these available yet, hoping that changes, either from Cambridge or 3rd party. The sound quality is enjoyable. The app has an adjustable EQ as well. It is a closer sound stage than I would like, but that comes with closed back earphones. I have a set of open back for special situations. I think the sound can be a little on the cooler side, but with some EQ adjustments you can get it where you want it. They are not bass heavy, but I find the bass pretty neutral overall which I prefer. The app has all the settings available including a few layers of ANC and transparency available. There are tactile buttons on the headset as well which I like a lot. Batteries are user serviceable and affordable. I really like this being an advertised feature as well. The battery life is insane. I am very impressed by the life and still have yet to charge mine. The packaging is a simple pull strip and sleeve design. No plastic or twist ties. In fact I reuse the cardboard sleeves for the cables and I love that. There is a lot of environmentally conscious decisions made in the design of these. If that’s important to you, look no further. While I have the ANC can be a little weird I have only noticed that using that 3.5mm cable. It may be a setting on my part, but could also be fixed through updates. So I’m not overly worried about it. There is a card included listing button press control. I need use it more to figure out the best way to use the buttons. Some in app button customizations would be a nice touch as well. For the money I feel these punch a little above their class and don’t get recommended as much as other more popular ANC headphones.

Sound on an Audiophile Level, Despite Noise Cancellation Issues
At this point, it is well-established around the Internet that these headphones have what probably amounts to a design flaw -- there are noticeable audio artifacts when using noise cancellation. This results in a faint "puffing" noise when the ANC is on. I returned one unit because of this issue, but the same was true with the second one, and I've also read enough reviews of the headphones to conclude that this is a design or manfacturing issue. Whether it's correctable via a firmwear update remains to be seen. What is equally well established is that, for all intents and purposes, this an audiophile quality Bluetooth headphone that functions at or near the top of the pile. This is of course a subjective issue, but I am among those who can describe these headphones as clearly superior in fidelity to the Focal Bathys, which is $700, and the B&W Px8, which is $600. I have not owned a B&O H95 or a Dali IO-12, so I cannot compare these to headphones in that $1K+ price range. I can tell you I have seen reviews of the Melomania P100 which prefer it over the H95. Because it is a close-back headphone, even in "normal" mode there is enough noise cancellation to satisfy me, which is another reason why the ANC issues don't bother me. The fact that this is a "vegan" product is not unimportant to me, and B+O's of lambskin is actually a deal-breaker for me. So I hope Cambridge Audio continues in this vein. These headphones are pretty comfortable, and feel lighter than the Bathys. For overall comfort, for me the B&W PX8 is by far the best, which is why I use that headset when I'm falling asleep to podcasts. But as most people will tell you, the PX8 is not an audiophile quality headphone. If the ANC issues could be resolved either through firmwear or manufacturing changes, this would be a slam-dunk five star rating. The fact that we are even talking about this headphone equalling or exceeding the Bathys, the PX8, and the H93 is astonishing. So if you care about sound quality but need to save some money and aren't obsessed with ANC, this headphone is essentially a no brainer purchase. As some people have pointed out, if Cambridge Audio could sort out the kinks with the ANC and also raise the sound bar even further, they could release a $600 headphone that could be a game changer. But even at present, the P100 is basically the talk of the tone amongst fans of Bluetooth headphones.

Great Sound
Great sound from the Royal Blue model .I have it in the flat mode and I turned off the dynamic EQ also. This pushes up the Bass and Treble. Nothing wrong with it Just a Preference . Noise cancelling works well while at Planet Fitness. There a comfortable fit I have no fatigue issues. They do get warm after an hour on the Elliptical . Being able to change out the Battery and Foam Ear pads is a huge plus. Long long battery life 60 - 100 hours depending on the noise cancelling mode your using . Nice music separation and it is a close sound stage . Bass is present when it needs to be and the treble does not have any harshness to it . These are smooth and balanced sounding headphones . A great price point for this quality build and sound . Explore the market a bit and try to find another package to compete with what Cambridge offers. I`m partial but I think you'll come up short.

Good value for casual listeners
I don’t typically write reviews, but I wanted to break my silence on this due to a lot of mixed opinions on the “best “budget” noise cancelling headphones” or the “best APM replacements” i purchased these to potentially replace my air pods max (APM) that died recently. I had high hopes but noted the puffing issues stated by some users but hoped it would not impact me since I typically use transparency mode. I utilize my APM’s for daily use and media consumption with occasional travel primarily paired to my PC and I tested these as I would use the APM. TLDR; overall sound quality good! Build quality is impressive! ANC more like active muffling, transparency has bad feedback if ear cup is not fully seated. Volume buttons functionally is inconvenient. Beware big ears! Overall good for a standard used who want budget friendly well build ANC headphone with impressive sound quality, probably not great for a super user. Detailed review: The boxing and build quality is quite astounding for a sub $300 pair of headphone. The headband is tolerable but definitely needs broken in. The ear cups are very well shaped but definitely will not fit larger ears(a potential major issue). The button placement is.. tolerable definitely would take some adjustment time. My major gripe regarding design is the volume buttons. Adjusting volume with the violin bits is basically pointless. It will take less time to get your phone out, or alt tab to adjust the volume on the device slide. You have to wait a noticeable amount of time between clicks to increase/decrease volume lest you skip or fast forward. On PC the device increase volume in increments of 6 or 7 just at will. the APM crown definitely wins compared to this. The inclusion of a dedicated start/pause button is nice. I created a customs profile right away due to the very neutral default. If you pick these make sure you change this! With my setting overall sound is very well staged and balanced. The front and side are very well placed but rears do tend to feel pushed forward on the stage. Vocal accuracy and clarify are very crisp and accurate even at high volumes. Overall sound performance is good especially for an ANC headphone. Now for the reasons I returned this item. The ANC and transparency modes. The ANC was not impressive. I could still easily hear ambient noises, knocks, clicks, barks, ect. I would call it more active noise muffling than cancelling which may be preferable to some but not what I wanted from an ANC headphone. I don’t want to hear my dog toys squeaking! Additionally I do have fairly sensitive ears and while ANC was on I felt a noticeable pressure from the noise cancelling. The ear cups were fully enclosed on my ears and it was truthfully uncomfortable to use ANC with no music/sound playing. Audio quality remained intact with ANC in but was noticeably impacted to my ear. Transparency mode performed well. No impacts to sound quality but still a noticeable impact to total audio profile (peaks and volume). However, it has a major flaw. If the ear cups were not fully seated there was major feedback. This is something I never experience with my APM, or any other ANC headphone before. It actually would hurt my ear if I adjusted the left headphone and it wasn’t perfectly cupping my entire ear while utilizing transparency mode. I will give this product props. The app is very user friendly and has everything you would want. Pairing is a breeze (even compared to APM) and battery life does seem to be substantially more than APM. I really did want to love these because I didn’t want to shill $500 to Apple or Bose in this economy, but for me that seems like where I will be heading. I could have moved past other issues if it weren’t for the transparency mode feedback but that with my other issues knock this from a 4 star to a 3. I do think these could be amazing with a slight ear cup size increase and possibly a firmware rework of the volume buttons, especially with their price tag!

Ignore the noise
I was surprised to see that the reviews for this pair of headphones are so polarized, but I can confidently say from my own experience that these have been an excellent choice and I'm very happy with them so far. Sound is obviously a preferential and subjective thing, so that may explain why some people don't seem to care for them. However, from my point of view, these hit it out of the park. I originally bought a pair of WH-1000XM5 and found that even after a few days of careful listening, I just didn't enjoy the way they sounded. I already had these headphones in the back of my mind so I figured I'd try these instead, given that they are from a reputable company and many people had been praising the way they sounded. A day with the P100's sealed the deal, and the Sony's went back to Amazon. I wouldn't say I'm an audiophile but I have a few headphones to compare them to, such as B&O, Audeze, Sony, Hifiman, etc., and I find these to be some of, if not the best sounding. These headphones just sound really, really good. It's a neutral sound that balances everything beautifully so that you get a nice blend of detail and tonality, all while being very pleasant and non-fatiguing to listen to. And unlike many other types of ANC headphones, they don't sound claustrophobic and are able to provide a surprising amount of soundstage. Recently, I tried my HE400s that I have hooked up to a Monoprice liquid spark amp and sat down for a few songs, and while the planar magnetics had the wider soundstage (obviously) and were slightly more detailed, I found myself putting the P100s back on because they just were more enjoyable to listen to. Comfort is a tough one because again, I feel like everyone is different and it's difficult to say one pair is more comfortable than another. I can see that these felt more comfortable than the WH1000XM5s, despite being heavier. And maybe my head is small, or maybe the other reviewers' skulls are just soft, but I have found these really comfortable and the clamping force just right. Your ears feel like they have plenty of room. Also, the other reviewer talking about how wide these were and that he was hitting them on doorframes is exaggerating greatly. That or there's something genuinely wrong with his gait or balance and he needs to see his doctor. They're wide, but its not like having a 2x4 nailed to your head like that other guy made it to be. The other perks worth mentioning include the replaceable batteries, which is a huge plus to me, even though you can't currently buy them as it seems they're out of stock on their website. The battery life itself is monstrous; as I'm writing this review, I've been lightly using the headphones on and off for about 3 weeks since their last charge (mostly ANC off), and it currently has 72% battery left. Physical button controls are also very nice and easy to use. One of the issues with the Sony capacitive controls is that, at least in colder climates, the air would start activating the controls so you would have to go through the app to manually disable the touchpad. These obviously don't have that problem. The cons that I think worth mentioning are as follows: 1.) The app and software still have some kinks. Sometimes it will just keep repeating that it has been paired or unpaired, and you just have to disable the voice prompts. It seems like having it connected to more than 2 devices at a time triggers that for me. Also, the app itself takes a few seconds to boot up and find the headphones. 2.) The headphones' ANC is good, not great. They feel about on par or slightly slightly worse than my WH1000XM3s, and behind the WH1000XM5s. Also, it seems easy to break the seal they make on your head when you move around or turn your head (in my case), so sometimes this lets in noise and hurts the ANC's ability to work. However, it seems you can avoid this by repositioning your head/headphones. 3.) These aren't made for the gym. They're slightly heavier than most headphones and their wider stature means that they will generate more angular momentum and are more likely to slide off your head. I personally only wear ear buds when I workout anyway, so not a problem for me but maybe a problem for you if that's something you're into. 4.) I'm sure there's something else but it's probably not that important. Bottom line: These are great sounding headphones (regardless of price), comfortable (to me), are solidly built, have excellent battery life, are designed for many years of use with their large replaceable batteries, all while undercutting most of the other ANC headphones you can currently buy in terms of price. They're definitely worth a shot, and I view those super negative reviews with a grain of salt.

Best ANC Headphones hands down.
These are the best wireless ANC headphones can get. Phenomenal sound and easy to use daily with the improved ANC. They’re amazing for $300 and easily beat high end options like the focal Bathys and Bowers and Wilkins px8. The volume is perfect and has enough headroom to go really loud. They’re comfortable with the top of the headband being a little annoying sometimes but just adjust it and you are fine.. Seriously even use them wired if you want lossless, they’re great for movies, music, and just vibing listening to podcast or whatever with the built in EQ in their app. The app can be a little finicky sometimes but it seems Cambridge audio is always listening for feedback. I’ve had tons of different headphones and these just… win. Lol that’s enough - not going to glaze them anymore but you get the point, they’re amazing! You won’t regret your purchase if you’re into audio.

Buy It!
A good way to go cordless. Sound is quite good out of the box, even without using the app profiles. It doesn't sound like they "boosted the bass" so that is a good thing, IMHO. To my ears the over all sound quality seems to have a slight hint of muddiness to to my ear, but not so much that it is annoying or objectionable. The quality is certainly better than most other headphones that I have listened to. Great features - user replaceable battery and ear pads - but no spare ear pads included :-( You can change almost all of the settings from buttons on the headphones... so no stupid, annoying phone/ipad app is needed... unless you really can't live without one... and then there is an app that you can download. The only way to create different music profiles is to use the app. Synching to my ipad was a snap. Solid BT connection, even at a distance. When you remove the headphones, they automatically pause playing sound. When you put them back on the sound picks up where you left off. It's great that you can set varying degrees of sound transparancy. Full transparency and noise cancelling both work quite well. You can use the volume buttons to move forward and back through track listings. There is a button where you can pause the sound playback. I have a smallish head, and unlike other headphones that I have, these fit well and don't slip forward or off when I bend over. They basically stay put and are fairly comfortale to wear for several hours at a time. The soft plastic ear pads don't breathe and thus contribute to a bit of dampness around my ears, but not enough to be a problem. I haven't tried these headphones for gaming or for making phone calls, but they should be great for those applications due to the built in mic - there is no cheesy looking microphone sticking out on a rubber coated bendable wire. I have had good luck with other Cambridge products in the past and these headphones appear to be following that pattern. Hey Cambridge... can you put a battery strength indicator on the next edition of these headphones?
