Great little device
A little flimsy when fully extended, but when it’s not fully extended, it is quite stout. A very good contraption that works well. Picks up the brass and leaves the rocks behind.

Perfect for a one gun bag. Works excellent
Great catcher, well made, but two things keep it from the fifth star. 1. This catcher would be "king of the hill" if it came with or additional mounts were offered/standard. On any given range day I'll have at least three rifles in various calibers, switching the mount between rifles isn't practical, which brings me to problem #2. The mounting fastener is EXTREMELY soft aluminum. They aren't rugged enough for constant changes, these need to be steel. Caldwell, are you listening? Steel fasteners and offer a minimum of three mounts. I'm here looking at buying the competitions product on the mount issue alone.

Works well and is durable.
I use this on an AR-15 hunting hogs and such at night. I've had the same one for over 6 years and have been hunting about 1,000 nights with it (I have many places nearby to hunt...it's easy to get out several nights a week if not nightly). The mount has worn and doesn't *click* into place anymore, it just slides on but it stays. It sometimes falls off when I lay the rifle next to a hog for a proof picture and I've had to walk back to find it (thank God). I've hung it crossing barbed wire fences but it's still in great shape. I reload so losing brass in fields isn't conducive to that; this is worth it's weight in gold. The quick on-off is great for stowing the rifle in my truck and not lying on a weird angle. I just bought a second one to rig up a day rifle...yeah, I like these catchers. I tried a velcro attached unit from Caldwell for awhile but I hated it...although a friend I hunt with likes his velcro unit just fine.

Have several of these, work well
This little item mounts securely to rail and has been a really effective way to use to catch brass from my rifle. Have several of these on several uppers, and use with one Cadwell mesh brass catcher. Zipper on bottom works well also to empty spent cartridges into bump pouch or bag.

An OK brass catcher with some flaws
I own Caldwell's less expensive brass catcher, which attaches via a velcro strap. I was disappointed by it's lack of versatility and unreliability. It's pretty obvious that it was designed strictly for an AR. I was hoping to find a way to make use of it in other firearms, and ultimately had very little luck. Even in the case of my AR's, it was finicky. I had a hard time keeping it tight and secure. When it worked, it worked fine, but if it was able to move a bit I'd start losing brass or ejection issues. I decided to purchase this, hoping that the ability to better position the bag while keeping it securely mounted would allow me to use it on some firearms that the velcro on setup wouldn't work on. I took it to the range for the first time today, with two firearms that I was hoping it would work out for. One was an SKS with a Magwedge rail, the other was a C308. Surprisingly, it worked flawlessly with the SKS once I got it positioned properly. I was able to get it into a spot where it didn't interfere with the charging handle or the ejection of the brass. Once I found the right spot, I was able to get every casing no problem. When I moved onto the C308, I had all sorts of problems. This mount wasn't able to stand up to the recoil of my rifle. I am not able to get more than a few rounds off before one of two things happen: Either the screw that secures the mount will loosen, or the catcher will pop free from the sockets on the mount, either resulting in the catcher falling off. I could have given a pass on this, as the HK91's design gives it hefty recoil, but I also found after only 20 rounds the bag was melting. I'm going to put some sort of liner in the bag to deal with the melting, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it falling off. Hopefully a bit of thread locker will help with the pic rail mount, but I'm not sure what to do about the catcher popper free from the mount. I wish the mounting system was a bit more secure... I'd rather have had a latch or something that holds it tight and disengages with a button press. I'm going to try it with a few more firearms and see how it does. I wouldn't knock points off for being incompatible with a specific firearm as it's really intended for AR's. I'm knocking points off because it melts, and because the design isn't an overly secure one.

Fits my S&W M&P 22-15 just fine.

If you have multiple firearms with a picatinny rail on the top, this little piece of metal is a must have for anyone who takes multiple firearms to the range and want to save their brass. The Caldwell brass catcher works great, it mounts to any picatinny rail and holds a fabric basket over the ejection port. If you have multiple firearms it makes it much more convenient to place one of these mounts on each of them instead of having to unmount/remount every time you switch guns. Very useful.
