It is based on the 3rd edition of the text of the Roman Missal (2010), and it is the 7th edition (2011) published by Rev James Socias. It is approved by the Committee on Divine Worship, US Conference of Catholic Bishops. The price of $53.90 was excellent and it was delivered promptly in two days by desertcart Prime and sold by "acbooksnet." It arrived in excellent condition. It appears to be extremely well constructed, and it is artfully and reverently designed with many beautiful black and white icon illustrations, appropriately placed throughout the missal. I very much like the Order of the Mass printed in Latin (with the exception of the different Prefaces) on odd number pages beside the English. It is incredibly comprehensive, well beyond the Liturgy of the Mass, as the desertcart description indicates. The size, feel and print are very convenient. I was a little concerned about learning how to use this missal, as it appeared to be very complex, with a liturgical calendar that goes from 2011 to 2023. However, I found a YouTube video published by The Catholic Store called "How to Use Your Daily Roman Missal" that provides an excellent explanation at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVkh5NHXFco. The missal is very well organized and it takes only a few minutes with the video to move about the missal and find your place. The six ribbons are very helpful to keep track of places that are personally important.

Magnificent Missal - A Catholic Must Have
The DAILY ROMAN CATHOLIC MISSAL, 7th ed., According to The Roman Missal, Third Edition published by Rev. James Socias for Midwest Theological Forum is a magnificent one-volume masterpiece --complete with readings-- printed in Italy. As is stated in the Preface (pg.xviii), it is "adapted for use in the dioceses of the United States of America". The readings are from the New American Bible with Revised New Testament (NABRE). For those familiar with books printed/produced in Italy, this Missal will not disappoint. It is another product of fine craftsmanship with the expert attention to detail that have earned ltalian printers their centuries-long reputation for producing desirable and collectible books. I purchased the black, bonded leather edition of the Daily Roman Missal (to match my Catholic Companion Edition Librosario Classic NABRE Bible--- please click on link to read my review) and it is an utter feast for the senses! The moment the clear shrinkwrap is removed, the aesthetically pleasing volume exudes the rich, warm aroma of leather. The gold-gilt page edging glints invitingly in the light. The padded cover compels one to pick up and caress the Missal. After carefully "breaking-in" the binding and pages, I open the perfectly-sized volume, and the true beauty is exposed. On the light cream-coloured Bible paper, in comfortably-sized print, is a veritable treasure trove which all Catholics will cherish. With very little coaxing, the volume lies open nearly flat, allowing for comfortable reading either in the hand, or on a table surface. My only regret was not researching the edition choices in more depth prior to ordering. I would have preferred the limited Genuine Leather version. But now that I have my bonded leather copy, I have no desire to part with it. After only a few hours, my copy of The DAILY ROMAN MISSAL, 7th ed. is already an old friend-- one that will be a treasured, near-constant companion at home and at Mass. Should you choose to purchase your own copy, you too will undoubtedly wonder how you did without it. Very highly recommended. -CC, Amazon Prime Member-Reviewer

It is very very complete and easy to follow once you understand it.
It is the missal you need if you are inside the US and wish to follow the mass. Specially if you plan to attend mass on some or all weekdays. You must have it if you are an extraordinary minister, seminarist, deacon or priest. It also includes other devotions like the Holy Rosary and some novenas. They should include a table on which you could find the names of the parts of the mass in order. It would be very nice to have a young priest (like Fr. Casey Cole) explain how to use it. Specially I would appreciate more sacramental masses like first communion, confirmation and ordination since these masses are sometimes difficult to follow.

Very well worth it!!
If you’re hesitant on pulling the trigger on this missal, then I hope this review helps. For years I used the monthly Magnificat publication for following along with the Mass, but the lack of some additional features in that publication made it necessary for me to need to carry additional books to Mass. This missal has all the standard prayers for before Mass, after Mass, adoration, confession, examination of conscience, basic prayers every Catholic should know, etc. This missal is truly a treasure trove of information and prayers. I went back and forth between this missal and the St. Joseph weekday/Sunday missal in the 3 volume set by CBP, but after quite a bit of research I decided this is the one for me. It is quite large, so definitely take that into consideration, I’m a large man with pretty large hands so the size feels comfortable in my hands. The paper is of pretty good quality, if you’re familiar with hand missals then you’ll see the similarities in paper quality. The print is nice and easy to read, although a little darker wouldn’t have been horrible, but with the paper, ghosting would have been an issue. I can’t recommend it enough. It’s definitely a must have for any serious Catholic attending the Novus Ordo Mass. Hope this review helps. God Bless.

Beautiful Missal but...
Things I like... -Latin translation on facing page (is why I bought it).. -Very linear. Easy to find your place. -Liturgical calander reference easy to follow. -See at a glance what year you need to be reading for the day. (see picture) -Binding and cover seem sturdy. -Everything in one book What I'm not crazy about... -Font is a touch smaller than my STJ Missal (see picture) -Font not as dark or rich as my STJ Missal. -Not liking the cream colored pages. -No intro, thought summary or theme on each day like in my STJ Missal. All in all a solid Missal. Layed out beautifully and pretty easy to get around. I had purchased the Fr Lesanse Missal and still can't figure it out. This one is much easier. Happy with the purchase and would recommend for anyone wanting an all in one Missal with Latin translations.
