I just completed the installation of two of these devices. I’m really impressed with these cameras. The quality of the video, you can hear, you can talk through them, you can move the angle of the cameras. It has excellent night visibility. Every time it sees a person I get a message. The phone app is terrific. The install instructions are incredibly simple. I just can’t find anything that I’m not happy about them. I’m actually thinking now about cancelling my almost $90 a month alarm. This is so much better and then the price vs value you get is so high that I will be recommending this to everyone I know. The one point that only time will tell is the longevity of these cameras. But if they last, let’s say just a few years versus what I pay monthly for my alarm service, it’s a great value. I do get that my alarm company will call the police, but 3 days ago one of my alarm sensors is not working and I’m going to have to call for service. That call it’s going to be at least $200. So I get value from that but at a very high price

Ease of installation, great performance, no subscription BS required, seamlessly added to Tapo Hun that my two Tapo 420 cameras were already connected to.

Please don't misunderstand the title. This is in no way a negative review, this camera has absolutely exceeded all my expectations. No need to buy a more expensive camera and pay for a membership when this one can do it all without. I love the 24/7 recording, its by far one of the coolest things about this camera. Seeing everything as a timelapse is so cool watching storms roll by or just the clouds, sun, and the day. Solar panel keeps camera plenty charged even after a couple cloudy days, once the sun shines the solar panel will recharge camera back near full within the day. No issues with set up or getting started all explained during start up, app very friendly and fun to play around with. Again save yourself the money and just get a Tapo camera. I know I'll be getting more for other areas of home.

Very disappointed in this product. It arrived yesterday and was dead on arrival. I’m bummed because I was all excited about getting it and setting it up to keep an eye on my bird feeders and maybe remotely yell at one of the many squirrels that constantly and unstoppably eat all the bird seed I put out, but now I have to keep doing it the old-fashioned way. ;) The camera never so much as blinked an LED at me. No sign of life. I charged it over 6 hours, read the quick start guide and the online manual, tried resetting it, made sure to use a 5v 2.0a charging block (not included and that is a problem in itself) and a couple of other charging blocks including using a 12 volt auto-type usb charger as one reviewer suggested was necessary but it was still dead as a rock and not even as useful. At least with a rock I can break things. I have 13 Tapo cameras in operation including 4 battery powered c425’s, 4 c211’s, 1 c113 and 4 c120’s, so it’s not like I’m a novice at this. I know the setup process and the app frontwards and backwards. I have been pleased with them all and think they’re great cameras that offer a lot of utility and configurability for a great price, but this c660 solar powered kit is a real loser. I am returning it for a refund and won’t be buying another. I might try a cord-powered c560, but I’m going to think on it a day or two as it seems like that’s just this without the battery, plus I’d have to run power to the location I had in mind for it. My confidence in Tapo products is shaken. I’ll be dropping it off at Staples for return to Amazon first thing this morning. Oh and by the way, I use Agent DVR software to manage monitoring and network storage of recorded video on most of my cams, but be aware that Tapo has recently changed its firmware on battery powered cameras to disallow monitoring by third party standards based software like Agent DVR. I won’t crack on them too much for that because I get the battery life based reasons for doing it (constant recording drains batteries quickly), but it was still a surprise to me when I found out. They should put that info out front and not surprise users like me who want more than just their Tapo app, which provides only phone based alerts and viewing. Tapo - how about offering some PC and Mac based software too? If you expect to be a force beyond home cameras, you need to do better.

the introduced say not to buy a first year car for good reason. throwing caution to the wind bought the C660, new aprox june 2025. pro, good quality video within 50ft while in 4k solar charging is good, better than expected on my north side (no direct sun) lose about 1% battery most days. south exposure 100% everyday regardless of cloud cover. motion tracking is good enough app is easy to use and has a good assortment of functions. just ordered some tapo smart bulbs to setup integrated smart motion lights outside. con, wifi not stable kicking it out of 4k viewing and playback on occasion. one cam within 20' of router the other double that. both on 2.4 wifi show the same signal strength and act the same. most recent firmware update eased but didn't solve the issue. using my tapo M5 mesh setup didn't have any effect.

Great camera so far from day to night it works exactly how i hoped! Easy to set up and mount with a long cable if you wanted to run the solar in another area you can and can separate the two. Great amount of view and the solar pannel keeps the batteries fully charged. Worth every penny and will be buying more of there products

Wow! Love this camera! It so clear and easy to use and very customizable. I was surprised the annual subscription was only $34.99.

I have a few of the TAPO 2K cameras and the resolution on this is much improved. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we gets lots of rain and cloudy days. With the solar panel charging in these conditions, I have never seen the battery less than 99%. Although, the 4K resolution is a huge improvement over the 2K versions, I do think that 8K or higher is required for face or license plate identification. I use this to monitor the long driveway to my house and upper deck attached to the 2nd story of the house. I'm alerted every time there's a delivery or when a visitor arrives. I also use this when I'm away to visually monitor the weather conditions at the house. My only gripe, the unit has the ability to pan such that I can see the ground directly underneath the camera however doesn't have sufficient vertical range to see the horizon. It's always looking down and should be mounted high to ensure you're getting proper coverage for security. Mine is mounted 12 feet above the ground but doesn't see the horizon and is not high enough for good coverage of the deck. I am going to design and 3D print a plate that will raise its viewing angle hopefully yielding what I want the camera to do.
