I have an old package and it says "best by jul2317mud". does that mean it expired on july 2017?

I'd say it means exactly what it reads - the product tastes best if used before July 23, 2017 but it remains usable, just loses some of it taste. The same goes for most expiration dates. Hardly any dry or canned products are actually spoiled on the expiration date. Even medication remains usable, except the active ingredient loses some of its strength. And even milk etc. used 1-2 days after the expiration date remain usable and definitely don't poison you if used beyond expiration. You can taste it if it's no longer ok to use. If, for some reason, there is the slightest trace mold in it, of course, you can't use it -- even before the expiration date. It means you need to thoroughly clean your refrigerator. Well, that's actually a lot more than you wanted to know....

Can this be baked, if I use boiling water, then place in the oven? If so, at what temp and how long? Thanx!

I often use different knorr sides in a casserole. I find it easier to cook the noodles first and cook until they are al dente, firm. Drain the noodles. Don't add the other ingredients or the sauce to the noodles. Use the noodles in any casserole then add the sauce, etc. There is liquid in the casserole recipe so you don't need the boiled water. Makes the casserole too runny. I usually have to modify my casserole recipe so the amount of salt and butter is more realistic. Then cook your casserole as you normally would or as your recipe calls for. The sauce adds so much to any casserole. Everyone gobbles it down. Of course you fix the Knorr sides and add many things to make it it's own casserole and then there's no need for baking it - unless you put it all in a casserole dish and sprinkle bread crumbs or whatever on the top. Then I would bake it about 225 degrees for about 20 min - 30 min. Keep an eye on it. Hope all this helps. Be creative. Pennye E Parker

You are very right they do taste like fish. Me and my wife agreed and threw them away. I love sushi and ceviche both which are supposed to taste like fish , but not this pasta which is horrible!!!!

Bought almost every flavor and this is our family’s favorite. Mix in cooked ground meat (turkey, chicken or beef) cut up rotisserie chicken without skin, diced rinsed ham, tuna in water etc and pair it with a seasoned veg for a complete meal. Easy peasy. I use 2 packets for 3 adults as we are not big eaters. This is perfect for weekday meal rotations. It comes in many varieties.

I ordered Knorr Creamy Garlic Shells. The box arrived the very next day before noon. A+ on delivery. I opened the box to find I had received Knorr Creamy Garlic Spiral Noodles. My family and I love the CG Shells. We like the texture and shape of the noodle and the way they cup the garlic sauce. For mor than 20 years they have been a favorite of ours. The CG Spiral noodles are NOT the same. The noodles are larger and more dense. There is a bitterness in the garlic flavor. The difference between the noodles is night and day. If Knorr is trying to phase out the Creamy Garlic Shells and replace them with the Spiral noodles they are making a huge mistake from my point of view. Bottom line; sell what you advertise and stop with the hidden one-sentence disclaimer that you might receive either types of noodles. That’s garbage and misleading. You can do better.

I ordered what was advertised as creamy garlic shells, which I have ordered here before (I hit the "buy it again" button). That is not what arrived ... instead, spirals that taste hardly better than cardboard. I checked the date on the packages, I thought surely they were expired because the sauce has no flavor. If I'm reading the numbers correctly, they're not expired but there is no taste. Even when you open the package there is no aroma of spices, it smells about like dried cut grass. I even added my own powdered garlic and it still had no flavor. I see other reviewers on here have said this is not the same product you used to get in stores. They are correct. This is awful. I bought a 12-pak and am so disappointed. I made one as comfort food after a bad day and I ended up in tears, the opposite of comforted, over how disappointed I was. If you're looking for the old creamy garlic shells, do not spend money on this rubbish.

My grocery store doesn't carry garlic shells anymore and that is our absolute favorite. I was pretty excited to see Amazon still had the shells but, sadly enough, I didn't see the little picture that said "you might get the other garlic kind..." and we got the other kind. The kind I could buy in the store anytime. Oh well. All of the Knorr sides taste good, I just didn't get what I was hoping for.

We really enjoy this pasta when we need a quick meal. I add cooked Italian (or breakfast) sausage & Ranch-Style beans (chili-type if you don't have RS beans). Even my picky teenage grandson likes it & that's a major plus for me! LOL
