Truck runs night vs day better!
Installed today, truck runs night and day better. Old YFA had some kind of accelerator pump issue that two different rebuild kits haven't been able to fix. Should have bought this a year ago. Test drove and it felt like a whole different truck. All I had to adjust was idle speed screw. Runs so good I didn't even mess with the mixture screw.

This product will make you spend more in repairs then it would to buy a Reputable Grand carburetor
I purchased this item based on the reading the ratings on Amazon and was a great value as well. I ordered the product and it took a couple days longer to get it than what was expected. Once I finally installed it I was very displeased that the product is defective. I have a 1988 Jeep 4.2 and I set the air fuel mixture screws 2 1/2 turns out from being fully closed. My vehicle started right up and as I was fine tuning the carburetor I noticed That the engine did not change how it Idled. I finally got it to not die on me when driving but the engine performance test when I screwed the air fuel mixture mixture screws two things closed position. Meaning there was no fuel being injected through the carburetor pins. But fuel is flowing into the intake elsewhere from the carburetor. And once I put a load on the engine it floods the engine it floods the engine till it dies and I cannot restart. My jeep has been in the shop for two weeks now and have a bill over $1000 and still have not figured out why. This product will be getting returned and I have to buy a new carburetor to have installed at my cost. So I stay away from purchasing this because you are trying to save money but when it’s all said and done you will spent Enough to just go purchase and install a fuel injection kit.

direct fit for YF Carter
purchased for a 69 Mustang, 200 ci motor. The item looks "bigger" than the original carter YF. It appears someone used a casting from the original Carter. The vent tube had a bigger diameter than the original. The carb fit onto the manifold with the supplied gasket(s) and fit perfectly. The stock air cleaner fit correctly. The carb does not a provision for an electric choke, so I removed the one on my original and it fit!!! The only issue was that throttle cable attachment point was in a different location. This carb had a mounting point even with the throttle shaft and my carter had the mounting location about two inches below the throttle shaft. So, I had to make a "custom" linkage, which was easy in my case. There have been no problems with the carb

A solid replacement for 22R engine
I purchased this for a 1987 22R pickup. It came well packaged and felt very solid and of quality materials. It came with gaskets and was a direct fit for the old one. In a couple of reviews I noticed people stating that the wire harness was incorrect. That is the first thing I checked and the verdict is, yes, the harness was wired 180 degrees backward from my original. Not very hard to push the pins out of the connector and re-route them before the install. The engine fired up instantly and though it has a slight increase in the original idle speed, it's not a deal breaker. it accelerates very smoothly, starts fast, and after many drives is functioning fantastic. Because I do not know the build materials, I have decided to use non-ethanol gas to avoid premature corrosion of possible lower grade metals in the choke parts. For my personal needs, this carb did the job perfectly and affordably.

Carter YFA Clone
This is not a Carter carburetor, which isn't a bad thing.I'll start with the good - after installing this my truck runs far better than it has in a long time. I experience no pinging or hesitation, and it revs smoothly through the RPM range. The choke also opens properly. Now for the bad - the front of this carb is different from the Carter in such a way that you cannot properly set up the EGR dump valve. If your truck has an EGR, you're going to have to get creative if you use this carb. Also, a number of the screw holes for connecting things to the carb were not threaded (like the choke heat tube). Aluminum is soft and I have taps so this is merely annoying.Last of all, the screw that holds the air cleaner box in place is smaller on this carb than the factory one. This is another area where you're going to have to be clever. At the end of the day you're getting a lot of carb for your money, just remember that this isn't quite a direct swap.
