I Saw Serious Results
I bought this DVD program over a year ago, when it was more like $110, after a long, scrutinizing search for a DVD workout program that would fit me. I am happy to say that, though it is now a mere $40, it was worth the price I originally paid.Sorry this review will be long, but I want to cover everything about it so you know if it will fit you. Let me tell you about myself so you can judge where I come from and where I started from. I'm a mother to a toddler, so I was squarely in the demographic they often target--"strong mommies"--but I was (and still am to an extent) woefully out-of-shape. I haven't been active and healthy since college, so that's something like 15 years of intentional neglect or indifference. At my heaviest, I was a size 18, around 250lbs at 5'3". But with my son's arrival, I recommitted to being the best version of myself for him. That being said, I had some other mental challenges. I am slothful by nature, a big fan of a comfy bed and sweatpants on the couch, so finding motivation for an hour plus was generally not in the cards for me because I simply didn't want to do it. More than anything, I needed a challenge that was both reasonable and provocative but also doable for a beginner to serious exercise, which is why I chose a more ambitious 90-day challenge but with routines that did not exceed 30 minutes--hence, Fe Fit.I should admit up front that I made it about a third of the way through the first time I tried the program, but through no fault of the program but entirely because of myself, I allowed myself to get sidetracked, and I stopped cold turkey. It wasn't until January of this year that I recommitted fully and unflinchingly to both a Weight Watchers diet and a Fe Fit exercise regimen. All that being confessed, I can tell you honestly about my experience with this challenge. First of all, this came packaged like a freaking present in shiny silver paper. Why do you care? Maybe you don't, but for me, someone who needs every bit of motivation she can get, first impressions with workout DVDs are everything. I felt like I was opening a present to myself. It really started me off on the right foot, and I was genuinely excited to try it.As for a review of the program, for me, there were so many pluses. First and foremost, the variety of the workouts kept me engaged, and each one has a handy countdown timer to help remind you that you're getting closer to the end. You get:total body toning (which is an exhausting and comprehensive workout covering of most of the other styles presented: upper body, lower body, pilates, and some cardio--all intermixed with weights, resistance bands, and pilates rings)upper body (mostly standing with weights)lower body (alternating floor and standing work with occasional weights, bands, or ring)core (mostly floor work using only your own body)cardio (a lot of stand up/sit down non-stop jumping, kicking, punching, etc., but never with weights or bands)barre (with a chair, isolating pilates style moves that focus on the core, glutes, and legs)and stretch (think a calming, sometimes challenging yoga routine)The calendar you get with progress stickers is both useful and cute, but don't fret if you lose it. I did, but I followed along with the DVD covers, which follow the calendar schedule and continually toggle between styles to keep your body confused and keep you losing weight. The thing that is especially nice with the calendar is that it promotes several different "speeds"--3-day, 4-day and 5-day challenges. I wanted to challenge myself but not kill myself, so I committed to 4 days a week. Many days I added a stretch flow routine immediately after that day's workout because most of the stretch flow routines are only about 20 minutes, where all of the main workouts hover close to 30 (no workout is longer than 30 minutes). I never just did the stretch flow as it wouldn't be enough of a workout for me, but it would be a nice lazy Sunday thing if you can't convince yourself to do anything more demanding. Despite the fact that it's not as exhausting or challenging, it is worthwhile to do, and I found I was less uncomfortable or sore if I followed a routine with it.Because of my demanding work and family schedule, I did these workouts Monday-Thursday during my lunch hour with a younger coworker who is in much better shape than I am (she's 28, I'm 33) and who is not a mother yet (I note this because she comes from a different perspective than I do).Impressions of the workouts themselves: I liked everything but cardio, but that's no fault of the trainer--I just hate sweating and feeling breathless, and, well, that's exactly what cardio's supposed to do. Chubby, out-of-shape me made it through every routine on every DVD, though sometimes I admittedly phone it in through some moves because I was so spent, but the point was I moved the whole way through. I also "felt" every routine--what I mean is that after it was over, my legs and arms were heavy, I was tired, I was sweaty, and I felt like I earned it, as did my coworker. I did the modifications most of the way through simply because I'm not at quite at an intermediate level yet on many things, and I still felt like I was thoroughly worked out. Fe Fit really does try to stimulate all the major muscle groups in almost every workout, which is important for health and weight loss, even during isolating routines like upper and lower body. My coworker modified less but felt the same level of successful results. Whereas I used 2lb weights, she used 5, and about 3/4 of the way through our 90 days, our boss even commented on how big our "guns" were! We grunted, we cursed, and we collapsed exhausted most every day, and going back up the stairs from our basement gym left us begging for an elevator, but we knew it was working. My only critical observations about the routines have to do with a few moves I would consider more advanced that were not modified by any instructor, which left me kind of making up my own solutions. For example, in the stretch flow, where the girls inexplicably can lift their hips and legs off the floor and over their head, I simply am not that strong or flexible yet, and a modification would have been nice.Impressions of Hilary, the trainer: Overall, I found her upbeat and likable with enough vim and vigor to drive me 30 minutes. Sure, some of the things she says or does grate on my a little, but, frankly, I'm prone to nitpick someone a) whose gorgeous figure I'm jealous of, and b) who's torturing me. That being said, many times I just felt like shutting the DVD off from exhaustion, but Hilary would orient me with some motivating language like, "We're doing this for our families" or "I know you're busy, so I'm going to maximize your time" or "You got this, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"She gave pretty decent verbal cues, which were helpful since you shouldn't be looking at the screen on some moves, but occasionally I needed more clarification than she verbally provided, like when she'd say "giant pressback" and she meant downward dog and not child's pose. She was also informative as to what we were doing and why we were doing it, which I find rewarding because it's a mental reminder of how these moves actually benefit me. Many reviewers disliked her use of terms like "strong mommies" because they aren't mothers, but I can't imagine why that would realistically impact the routine. My coworker seemed to have no issue with it, but I suppose if you are motivationally challenged like myself, and you don't have or want kids, it could dissuade you marginally? I'll just say it wasn't important to me.Results: I changed my diet in January and began working out sometime in mid-Janary. I remembered to take my first measurements in mid-February, and from my last measurements on 4/21, here were my loss totals: I have lost an inch and a half around each arm, 4 inches around my chest, 2.5 from my waist, 3.5 around my hips, 2 from each thigh, 2 from each calf, and an inch around each ankle. I lost about a size and a half in pants and more than a size in shirts. My arms are noticeably more defined, and my belly is so flat, I can see straight down to my toes again. When I started the DVDs, I could no do the roll ups without propping one elbow first; by the end, I could do every one Hilary asked and more if needed. I couldn't do any push ups from a non-modified position, and by the end, I could do maybe half of what she asked all the way down without modification and the rest with. But I should note that I didn't just do the DVDs, but added them in combination with a proper diet of fruit & veggie smoothies in the morning, a small, balanced lunch, healthy snacks, and a portioned dinner. I cut out as much refined sugar as I could reasonably give up and drank 2 cups a day of green tea with honey. In about 3 and a half months, I lost 38 pounds. Needles to say, Fe Fit worked for me.My coworker is getting married in October, and, like I said, was already pretty slender and in generally fit shape, but she had to buy a belt for her jeans and when she went for her first dress fitting, it was big! She was really happy, too.Do I have a lot more I want to achieve? Yes. Will this be the only fitness regimen I incorporate? No, but that's not because of any failing in the program. It's good to keep the body guessing. If Fe Fit makes another DVD set, I will buy it. I highly recommend it!

Love these DVDs
Ive had these DVDs for 3 days now. Initially I was apprehensive since many people have said that these are very light, beginner-intermediate workouts that dont get results if you need to lose weight. Ive done 3 of these workouts so far, and each one has made me sweat. (I use 5 lbs)Ive done 21 day Fix before this, and honestly, this made me sweat more than a couple of the 21 Day Fix WOs did.Ive heard that others were annoyed by the trainer. Personally, Im OK with her. The first video I saw of hers on YouTube was definitely annoying, but she is growing on me. And in the 3 workouts I have done, Ive heard her say "moms" or "mommies" 3-4 times, which honestly did not annoy me. I am a mom and I am trying to lose the post pregnancy weight, so I was actually encouraged by those references (I can understand how this might be annoying to someone who is not a mom, or even to someone who has been a mom long enough for it to not be a novelty lol). The set is bright and very pink, which is fine with me since I love that color, but otherwise the workouts go by pretty fast.Im following the summer challenge schedule that I found online (message me if you need the schedule since Fe Fit has taken it off their website). I'll update this review with results at the end of my 4 week rotation, Im hopeful that I'll see results! :)UPDATE***7/8/2016*** Ive had these dvds for several months now, and honestly, Ive never finished a full round , not even the summer challenge. Something always comes up before I finish the rotation, so I end up missing a week and starting over. That said, Im very impressed. Yes, the trainer does use the word mommy a LOT, this is not a workout I would be comfortable doing with any non mom friends. BUT its effective. Every single time Ive done 4-5 days of these workouts consistently, I see immediate results. I dont really lose weight unless I change my diet with these workouts, but I do see increased definition.Post baby, Ive found that exercising alone does not help me lose weight at all, I really need to watch my diet. Thats a personal thing, and these DVDs might help others lose weight, or might have helped a younger me. Im going to leave my review at 4 stars though, because NOTHING has increased my muscle definition in such a short period like this workout series. And Ive done P90X, T25, Turbo Jam, Slim in Six, Turbo Fire, 21 day fix, Insanity, Chalean Extreme etc. All of those are wonderful workouts, but in 30 minutes a day, at a price that is HALF that of the most economical of beachbody workouts, I get a decent calorie burn in, and there is no dread factor yet!!If youre on the fence on these DVDs, and dont care about being called mommy several times a workout, look no further- this is well worth the money!!

A high pitched drill Sargent, repetitive routines, totally uninspiring.
This program looks great on paper. I read the reviews about how she says 'Come on, mommies!' which several said was kind of annoying if you were not a mom, but I thought 'It can't be THAT bad.' Oh, I was sorely mistaken! I love the idea of a 30 minute workout, quick and done, but the instructor is so incredibly annoying and shrill, and the constant references to moms and kids and baby weight was beyond off putting. Out of an 8 disk set, I think I have only done about 5 of the workouts (on different disks). Her idea of a warm up starts with high impact jumping jacks and jogging. The workouts from one DVD to the next are repetitive, and the cool down nonexistent. Plus, she's not even doing the workout herself most of the time; she's walking around everyone else barking orders and talking about how fun this all is, but even the other performers in the video don't seem thrilled. All around terrible. On a positive note, however, this did lead me to the BALADEA Workout System, which is amazing, inspiring, and I love doing. But Fe' Fit has been '86'd from my workout regimen. Sad, because it does sound like a good concept.
