I'll be the first to admit I have picky taste buds. With today's prices, it's rare that I'll go out on a ledge and buy something I've never tasted before on the off chance I don't care for it. I am SO glad I did with these CLIF Chocolate Brownie Energy Protein Bars. They are delicious, no chemical taste. Not too dry. The perfect breakfast or snack while out on the go.

Great flavor. Many of the other flavors tastes heavy on the protein powder but the chocolate flavor masks that. They are fairly dense so be warned. They work well for keeping you full longer throughout the day.

I'm a fan of clif energy protein bars and have tried most variants at this point. They're filling enough to be a breakfast replacement, and do not melt like some other protein bars making them great for travel. I see them more as a breakfast bar than a protein bar - 10g of protein for 250 calories and 43g of total carbs is not a great return so if you're looking for something healthy or high-protein, you might want to look elsewhere. The chocolate brownie variant is tasty though, much like other protein bars, doesn't taste anything like the thing it emulates. It tastes more of cocoa than chocolate and while it has a chewy texture, eating this doesn't in any way remind me of eating a brownie. That's not to say they're unpleasant - they're tastier than most protein bars and don't have the common chalky texture that I associate with such products. They're good but are neither a candy bar nor (with only 10g of protein) really a protein bar.

Excellent energy bar. I've eaten them when backpacking and canoeing and bicycling and hiking. Very satisfying, and they never get old. I've eaten some other bars that taste fine at home but have to be forced down when you're really exerting -- these bars are not like that at all. Highly recommended.
