Q: Can you manually trip the circuit to cut power?

Yes you can but I still verify the voltage at the powered device is at 0 volts which indicates the circuit is tripped with the manual switch

1/4", but 5/16" connectors worked fine for me.

Q: Does it replace using a Fuse

I would expect a 250 Amp Circuit Breaker takes a load >250Amp to blow. That's a lot!! Am using it to shut off all power to boat when not in use. I have separate circuit breakers for items such a radio and fish finder.
