only shows around .08 after that its a peace of junk
this thing is junk. been testing it over and over. took a few times to even get to it tell it to read i even drank. after months of testing I can tell you this will never tell if your over .09 most of the time. I drink 151 prof ever-clear. at this time I drank 6 oz of it in a mixed drink with 8 oz of read bull. first third waited 10 minute shows .09 wait another 10 shows .09. drink another third waited 10 minutes and still shows .09. then wait 10 more minutes and drink the last point and wait again. guess what it says .09.... this thing will kill you before telling you what it should tell you. at this time I drank 6 oz of ever clear 151 proof and made another 4 oz drink and its been less than 2 hours since i started drinking and it still shows .09. this thing is junk and will get someone to OD and die and still be showing less than .1.if you use this and think you under .08 and drive you are probably over leagel lements and if you get pulled over will get arrested and have to deal with things you should not have to deal with. yes im drunk. but how can I test this thing if im not. still wish it was a good product. end of the day this is cheep for a reason. because it dose read your drinking but dont relie on what it says.

Works well but you have to know how to use it correctly
I've had mine for a few months now and it does work and provide pretty consistent results, but you have to know how/when to use it correctly:So when I first bought it I wanted to test it out. I recorded a spreadsheet drinking one shot of whiskey every 20 minutes till I got to 6 shots, and I recorded my BAC 5, 10 and 20 minutes after each shot.So firstly, if you use it 5-10 minutes after drinking something its going to always read an insanely high BAC like .4 or something because of the alcohol still in your mouth. But what I also noticed and was frustrated with, was that even after 5 shots in, when I was definitely feeling quite hammered, the meter still ready 0.0. Only after the 6th shot it read a 0.02 and by that point I was pretty intoxicated and fell asleep before I could do more testing. So I assumed the thing was wildly inaccurate, but then at a new years party after we had been drinking on and off for hours we tried it again. It just said error a couple times, but if you keep doing it eventually it works, if its been unused for a while the sensor just needs to heat up and clean itself off.Once we got it working I was impressed by its precision. I only felt a little buzz still and I blew a .04. My friend then tried it and blew a .14 and was frustrated because he wanted to drive, he said the thing sucks and doesn't work... but then I used it again and it gave me a .04 again. we went back and forth 3 times getting the same results. At that point it had proven its repeatable results and I made sure my friend stayed and didn't screw his life up that night...So here's the trick, other than it not being accurate up to 10 minutes after drinking, and needing to blow ERR's a few times before it works, you also need to recognize that this will not be accurate unless your body has had time to actually metabolize the alcohol for it to be present in your bloodstream when you exhale from your lungs. This is different for everyone's body, and if you ate recently, and what kind of drink it is, and for me it seems to be longer, at least an hour till its all in my blood. I feel the effects of alcohol within 5 minutes but its not detectable in my blood for at least an hour after that. This is why its important to stop drinking at least an hour before you intend to drive because anything after that is gonna be continually increasing your BAC even after you leave and are driving your car.So, for an "in the wild" circumstance where you are actually drinking over several hours at a bar, this breathalyzer should give you pretty accurate results at the end of the night, provided all the alcohol has had time to get into your bloodstream by that point. It may also be useful as a calibration tool for your own sense of intoxication, that's primarily what I wanted it for. I wanted to know what specific BAC's felt like to me so I could accurately guess my suitability to drive, because realistically, most people could drive just fine up to like a 1.2, but here in Ohio the legal limit is 0.05 and that is a really hard amount of buzz to clock just by feel, and 2 long islands instead of 2 of some less potent drinks could be the difference between sleeping in a jail cell or sleeping in your bed.

Possibly garbage
I don't think this product is accurate. So far to date it has absolutely no fluctuations it's either 0 or .08 nothing in-between. That can't be right. I am going to loan it to a Friend and verify his results

Excellent
Needed this for peace of mind for a loved one. It’s convenient and is carried on the keychain. Never wonder if you’re over the limit. Stay safe and keep others safe.

Inaccurate
This does not provide an accurate reading. We had 2 different kinds at a party and this one continuously said it was below the limit to drive when the other one said in some cases double the limit. No one drove. It was mostly just to see how well it works. I wouldn’t trust it. 40.00 in the trash.
