Do NOT use the OTC lice shampoos - RobiComb actually works and is totally safe
My daughter came home from camp with lice. This is the first experience I have ever had with lice, so I promptly headed to the pharmacy to pick up a bottle of lice shampoo. I wanted it taken care of right away, so I got the extra strength stuff that supposedly kills the "super lice" that are resistant to being killed by the lice shampoos. I washed her hair following the package directions exactly. Several lice died and came out in the wash. I thought I had success. I then spent a torturous 2.5 hours meticulously combing through her long thick hair with a "professional" metal nit comb. A lot came out so I thought we had conquered them. The next day, we went through the 2.5-hour comb-through process again. She had many live bugs that did not look at all fazed by the shampoo residue that was supposedly still active. I ordered the Robi-Comb at this point. The next day, same 2.5 hour comb-through - more bugs came out than the day before. Obviously the shampoo did not work (I later found out from a medical journal that the OTC shampoos are only 25% effective. Pharmacists are no longer even recommending to use the shampoos because they are a neuro-disruptor and are not effective. Shame on them for selling toxic products that don't even work!!).Finally my RobiComb arrived. The entire comb-through process was dramatically cut down - from 2.5 hours to 30 minutes - because you can comb through a bigger section at once. The RobiComb gets out the tiniest of newly-hatched bugs (see my picture - you will see an adult louse, a nymph, and a few newly-hatched bugs). Within 1 week, my daughter was completely lice-free! Unfortunately, sometime during this process my son got lice too. One week with the RobiComb for 10 minutes a day (he has short hair) and he is lice-free as well. Our entire family now uses the RobiComb on a weekly basis just as a preventative measure.

Ineffective
I used this over and over and over. I insisted she no longer had lice. But she did. I couldn’t get it all out until I got the cheap comb with the long prongs. It came with one of the treatments. This comb was getting nothing out and I switched to the other comb at the base of her head and it was full of lice. By the next day she was free of lice. I had combed with this for two weeks.

Definitely recommend this
Works great as long as hair is combed out first

Worth every penny!!
Amazing! If lice tends to outbreak at your child's school every year - you need this comb! I have three girls and it's a life saver. I start with the Fairy Tales treatment and then use this daily as a follow-up and so far we haven't had to spend hundreds of dollars at the local hair place that gets rid of lice. Best of all, I can use this on myself to be sure I haven't caught it too. Some advice:1. After treating with the fairy tales treatment, I wash, blowdry and flat iron my daughters hair - if your daughter has curly hair I highly recommend flat ironing it as it will make it extremely smooth and easy to comb and see through to find any lice and nits that might remain.2. Follow up with the robi comb daily on the dry, straightened hair for a week (re-wash and dry/straighten as needed, but not necessary daily).3. After a week you are usually good to go, but if you are still finding live lice at the end of a week keep it up for a few more days.4. When using the robi comb, use a hair clip and go through in 1 inch sections, combing top-down and then from underneath - you won't miss any that way. It doesn't take as long as the Fairy Tales treatment, but it usually still takes me a good 30 minutes per child - if you take your time, you will find them!! This is not a 2 minute comb and go - you need to have a bit of patience still, but I find it much easier and less time consuming than other treatments.I find this routine much easier than repeating the initial fairy tales treatment every other day as that one is very labor intensive and time consuming, though I do recommend doing it at least once at the beginning since the RobiComb doesn't get rid of nits but the fairy tales treatment will get rid of a lot of the nits.If you are wondering if you need this, YOU NEED THIS!!

Better for thin hair, kills lice on contact, teeth are too small
I bought this for my daughter’s thick hair thinking it would be easier than the traditional comb. It would stop buzzing as soon as I touched the comb to her hair. I got it to work a few times but it was frustrating to go through her whole head with it constantly stopping. I gave up and used a regular comb eventually
