Super Delicious Chocolate Cake!
This chocolate cake mix did not disappoint! It’s moist, very chocolaty and can be modified pretty easily! I added some additional cocoa powder and a spoonful of coffee grounds to make it really rich. Made a chocolate ganache for the center (unsweetened cocoa baking bar, swerve confectioners sugar, butter, heavy whipping cream) and made an easy frosting (swerve confectioners sugar, cocoa powder, splash of vanilla, spoonful of ground coconut for thickness and heavy whipping cream) and this cake was a major hit!! It was for my husbands birthday and the kids had no idea it was sugar free! 🤣😎 Absolutely recommend!

Pleasant Surprise!
I have been using Swerve brown and granulated sugar for a while now and have been happy with them, so I decided to try the chocolate cake mix. I have my own blood glucose issues, and a friend coming for Christmas has even more serious ones. I made a test cake, frankly a bit wary of what a wheat-free, sucrose-free chocolate cake was going to taste like. To compound things, I realized that I did not have an 8" cake pan, which the recipe called for, and so I resigned myself to my fate and used a 9" tart pan (lined with parchment paper, with the oven at 345 degrees). The batter came together quickly, and it baked up into quite a decent chocolate snack cake, even in the larger pan. While I may add some bittersweet chocolate ganache for Christmas, for satisfaction of the everyday chocolate jones, this will do quite well. I'm delighted to have found such an easy, yummy cake mix.

Good but dry. But good.
Awesome keto option. It's so easy to make. With that said, the cake ended up dry. It broke when I tried to put frosting on it. The second cake I made using this, I brushed it with a simple whiskey syrup I made and it improved the cake. I also made a tiramisu with the vanilla one. I cut the cake into ladyfingers sized sticks, dipped in coffee and made a mascarpone cream. Amazing stuff! But the cake itself, sadly dry. If you find ways to reinvent the cake, bravo. You no longer have a dry cake!

Great texture, not much flavor
The texture of this cake is great. Anyone who's been living the low carb lifestyle knows that one of the biggest problems with recipes that use alternatives to regular flour is the texture. Baked goods tend to be spongy or grainy. This cake is actually very close in texture to the real (high carb) thing. The place where it lacks is flavor. To be honest, it might be great with low carb frosting slathered on, but I've always liked chocolate cake without frosting so I made this into cup cakes to eat plain. Not much flavor at all! I know I could make it better by throwing in a handful of Lilly's chocolate chips into the mix but I feel like I shouldn't have to doctor it up at this price point. Its pretty expensive for a cake mix. I'm not saying I'll never buy it again, but just know your gonna have to add more expensive ingredients if you want it to be flavorful.

Delicious; great flavor and texture
This is a great cake mix. The texture and flavor is nice and it’s easy to change up by adding chocolate chips, nuts, etc. it’s a great keto snack and is also nice and filling so it’s easy (for me) to stop at one piece. The only strange thing is that it calls for a tablespoon of vanilla - since it’s labeled a vanilla mix you would expect the vanilla flavor already to be incorporated into the mix. But that said, I still love the mix rather than trying to make a keto cake from scratch. Also makes good cupcakes.

Not a Fan
One word. Awful! Folks in all honesty I am not a fan of Erythritol in general. It has a sharp, acidic, almost-burning aftertaste. It also makes me super nauseous after I eat it. And no, it’s not an allergy or a sensitivity - it’s indicative to this particular sugar alcohol. There are much better keto friendly alternatives out there that are “natural” I’d recommend you try. Splenda Natural Stevia Reb B for starters (taste exchange stable hot or cold and no bitterness since it’s a different area of the plant.) If you like Swerve and your not sensitive to Erythritol, go for it. But for those of us that actually want our desserts to taste like the real thing - there are much, much better options.

Great sugar free cake!
If you are trying to limit the amount of glucose spikes in your life, this is your cake mix! The taste is AMAZING, not too sweet, and good enough to eat on its own. Rates a 78/100 on Yuka!
