After replacing our old system with a new 2-stage 5-ton central air conditioning system last July, the air handler experienced a sweating issue. We guessed that mold occured in our plenums or ducts. This winter we experienced musty or moldy or an ozone like odor coming from our central AC, especially one zone in particular. We truly believe it was affecting our health. We installed a RGF REME HALO Whole Home In-Duct Air Purifier. I'm sure it's a good thing but It did not help. We had our air quality tested, all normal results. The HVAC professionals cleaned the original coil on two occasions and conducted a fogging service. The smell remained. 7 or 8 months after installation the coil was replaced. The sweating problem was solved, but the odor continued. We purchased "Duct Fresh Gel - HVAC Air Freshener, Cleaner, Deodorizer Non Toxic for Odor Block, Small" from desertcart. We placed an open container in one of the return ducts close to the air handler. Amazing. Really. For all intent and purposes, the problem is solved. While there is a rare occasional ever so slight whiff of the odor, but for 99.99% of the time, the odor is gone. We are beyond pleased. Review: This and a carbon filter have completely eliminated any odors.

This stuff worked well to elimanate some mildew odor i had from AC to heat in the fall. But only lasted a month, not 3 months as advertised. Its good, but expensive.

Ineffective. It didn't stop odors. No scent at all. The gel was hard as a rock. It looks like it was open because the product was dry.
