Just had the most epic overlanding trip with the Nomad
The Nomad cooking system was something I bought with a little skepticism at first but then I ended up using way more than I thought. The pot and pan nestle into the cooking base, and I can fit the whole thing into my microwave. I’ve replaced all my other cooking gear so there’s much less clutter and no clanging around when I’m driving. It’s super versatile, and I can make virtually anything I want. From soups to American breakfasts to maps tofu. Boils water quickly and gives a great sear on steaks. Super easy to use with my inverter and now I’m one step closer to going totally propane-less in my overlanding adventures. I never write Amazon reviews but this was a must, and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a versatile electric cooking solution. My only suggestion is to have a way to connect two nomads together when cooking for larger groups, while keeping total wattage consumption reasonable.

Particularly good for cooking in your tent
Good camping cooker set but... - both pan and pot only heat a horseshoe like part of the surface. - the pot cycles on/off in lower watt settings instead of providing continuous lower level heat. - the pan makes good pan cakes over the hot horse shoe but doesn't work in the cold spot. - thin sliced meat works well in the pan, brats or thicker cuts don't get enough heat. - the French press/popcorn maker is a gimmick but fairly useless - I will switch back to a conventional French press and boiling water in a pot - why use this? I used Trangia burners for 45 years and will continue to do so. That being said: if you have the solar/battery set up already, then cooking with the Shenzen Let There Be Light set in your tent is extremely convenient. Compared to any hydrocarbon fuel there is no fuel to transport along or fuel odor and most importantly no condensate water from combustion. - lastly, I cannot objectivate this but have the feeling that the energy efficiency could be better. On the same EcoSmart battery that our Zojirushi ricecooker draws 10% of energy to cook rice in 60 mins the Stoke pot draws about 30% to boil 3 fillings of water in about 30 mins. So for cloudy or rainy days, bring your old Trangia and a quart of denatured spirit, just in case.

Great product! Highly recommended!
I recently started looking for electric cooking options for my car camping trips. First i brought my induction cooktop from home, which worked great until it broke on one of the trips. That’s why I decided to give this gear a try. The multiple power levels and timer functions are helpful, and I find myself using the 600W setting and above most of the time. My power station handles it well. Even in areas where open fires are allowed, I’ve started preferring electric cooking because it’s just so much easier. The only thing that could make this product even better is offering a version with dual burners, so I could use a pot and a pan at the same time instead of having to switch between them. Overall, this has been a great addition to my camping gear, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a compact and dependable electric cooking solution for outdoor use.

Portable cooking, no gas required
Functionality: This is well-constructed and I like how the pots, heating element, and lid nicely stack for storage in the case (I set the removable handle and cord on top of everything in the bag). The built-in heating elements make the pan and pot a bit thicker than a typical induction-ready pot or pan, but this system is designed to work with it's own parts. In testing, I saw 180.9 watts on the 200W setting to 894.2 watts on 1,000W setting. It hovered around 875W when on high while boiling water. There was no surging that I noticed (unlike many induction heaters that alternate between a high power and off for seconds at a time to maintain a temperature, this one actually moderated the consistent power output based on the setting). This means I can use it on a smaller solar generator or power station, and even lower wattage one will work as long as you keep the power setting within your power station's limits. There was some faint fan noise when in use, but I did not find it annoying and it shouldn't disturb someone more than a few feet away. The heat element seems to have decent consistency in heating based on where the bubbles were forming when boiling water. It boiled 1L of water in about 8min 30sec, and used 0.126kWh to do so. This will vary based on the water temperature, of course. In all, I like this system for car camping and backup during a power outage, especially in areas where using a gas stove (or any open fire) would be a problem, such as in a tent during a rain storm.

Great setup for a mobile kitchen that runs on electricity
I recently upgraded my camper, and with it I decided to upgrade my cooking system. I used to run a propane gas burner. Now ive built a system based on a large 'solar generator' with 2000 watt capacity. This power source can easily run this induction based cookset. I like how compact the whole setup is. The cook set has more than enough power for my modest one pan gourmet skills.. Ease of setup and ease of use are also a positive so my meals can become a bit more elaborate. I'll use this though the winter and let you know how it works out. It should be better than the propane systems that get finicky when it gets below freezing. Also, I used a milk crate and some acoustic foam to make a durable and protective case for it as it lives in the bed of my truck.

Small pot and pan
My only issue with this was the size of the pot and pan ended up returning and decided on a jet base camp for my needs

Great cooking stove. We back country camp and our extra truck battery could handle boiling a full pot of water. We also made eggs in the fry pan. Great for 2 people.

I'm happy with my purchase! It works great and it makes my road trips and camping experience much more enjoyable. The only thing I dislike is that there's only one lid and I wish there's two lids for each pot...I don't like leaving of pot open especially when I am cooking outside the food can get cold fast while you are cooking using the other pot. But in general it's a great product. I also purchased the electric kettle and I love it as well...fast and you can choose between 200w up to 1000w great for camping road trips, boat etc. I gave four stars 🌟 just because of the lid or I would have gave five stars 🌟
