Works great. Makes tearing skids apart simple.

Excellent tool
I'm a disabled vet with a bad back. I Received the pallet buster this morning and already broke down 4 large pallets in 30 minutes without breaking a sweat and no back strain. (No more hammer and prybar) It's heavy and sturdy the welds are excellent, I now have no reservations about gathering more pallets, in my opinion it's paid for itself already.

Deck boards removed easily
Used to take apart a deck because of the design was able safe more boards for reuse and much faster than i expected. Worth every penny. My only complaint is the rubber grip is already starting come apart.

Helps take pallets apart, but...
I get pallets from my wife's work and use them for wood projects. Taking the boards off, in one piece, is a challenge. I bought this to see if it would make the job easier and maybe better. It does make it really easy for sure, but the wood splits just as much. This tool is built like a tank and will last for ever. I was going to make one, but I couldn't buy the raw steel to make it for less than this thing cost. The only weakness I found was that after just 3 pallets, the top of the plastic handle broke off!!The pivoting heads are really useful, and are the main reason I bought this design. They allow the tool to be inserted between boards that are closer together. Also, once you apply pressure, they naturally follow the board's surface and apply even pressure across its width, reducing the chance of breakage. Unfortunately, I found only the middle of the board lifts cleanly without splitting. Pallet nails are ribbed and a b**ch to pull out. So 99 times out of 100, the board is pulled over the nail heads, leaving large holes on top. This results in quite a bit of tear-out on the underside, but not a big deal for a pallet wood project. However, at the ends, where you use just one of the pivoting heads snugged up against the main rib of the pallet, the board splits as the tool pulls the board over the nail heads.I found the best process was to lever up the middle, and cut the boards short, just inside the line of nail heads, with my circular saw. This gave me the highest number of useable boards. If you just want to break a pallet down and aren't using the wood, this tool is awesome and makes the job very easy indeed. One pallet had been rebuilt with some hardwood and this tool was able to pull those boards off cleanly with the nails. Unfortunately, most pallets are made from really soft wood.On the next batch of pallets I am going to try using my reciprocating saw on the ends and this tool in the middle, where getting saw access can be limited.Do I recommend this tool? As long as you know it won't stop damaging the boards and it is just one tool in your arsenal of pallet dismantling tools, then yes. If you want to tear down an old deck, you can bet it'll work great!

Perfect tool for the job!
We needed to dismantle our deck and were really struggling to get the deck boards up with just the crowbar (short and long) and didn't want to cut the boards in pieces with a saw. I saw this Pallet Buster Tool being used to pull up deck boards on a YouTube video that seemed to work well and decided to try it. Wow, it made a world of difference. Don't get me wrong, it is a strenuous task but my husband was able to get all the deck boards pulled up in just a couple of hours whereas just a single board was taking that long with the crowbar. This tool is heavy and held up well to the task. The design was very conducive to pulling boards and was easy to use. I'm still giving this 5 stars but my husband did mention that the handle design wasn't great. It was ribbed and kept twisting on him making it more difficult than had it remained in place and was making his hands sore. That being said, this was a very useful tool and definitely worth the money for the time and effort it saved us. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone needing to dismantle a deck. So glad for this purchase.

Tough tool
I have been busting pallets regularly for the last 5 months. This tool has held up very well and can pull apart the common shipping pallets. It is reinforced where it needs to be. The welds are good. The handle has not bent. I am very satisfied.

This is the right tool for the job!
This thing works amazingly well. I am building garden beds out of pallet wood (5/8" x 3.5") using 3-boards glued and pocket screwed together. I was getting super frustrated using a hammer and a small pry bar as I kept breaking about 1/3 of the pieces I was trying to salvage. This tool is the right tool for the job. It's a bit heavy but it gets the job done. I like this design better than the fixed arm ones. This one will allow you to pry up two boards that were nailed very close together (usually at the end of a pallet). I've probably got about 2 dozen pallets to go and am looking forward to using this tool. For $50 it's well worth it and has paid for itself in time saved alone already.

Pallet wrecking like a boss!
At first I wasn't sure what to expect. It was big and heavy, like me. It has simple enough operation. You place it between two boards, pull back, repeat until completion. This thing takes that to a new level! Took me maybe 10 minutes to rip apart 1 pallet. That's including time taken to cut the outer most parts. If you are wanting to use the boards for crafts then do this. Cut the board as close as you can to the outer supports. Yes, you lose about 3 inches but, it's helps with breakage. If you are busting up pine pallets most likely the nails aren't going to pull out and they just rip through. This looks good on a rustic piece though. If you don't care about the boards and need to just break the pallet up for fire wood then put on some Pantera and go ham with it! I can't recommend this thing enough. It used to take me an hour to carefully pry apart one pallet. Now it's quick easy and actually fun!
