Hillsdale Furniture Mercer Bed Set with with Rails, King, Antique Brown

The bed arrived very well-packaged and undamaged even though one of the boxes had taken a bit of a beating in transit. I took one star off for assembly as I ran into a couple of issues with the nuts and screws not cooperating and had to find a replacement for one set - bad threads. Otherwise, I was able to put it together by myself without too much fuss (and I'm a very short, age 60+ person.) A helper would have made the job go even faster, as I had to improvise a way to keep the headboard and footboard upright to get the first rail attached at both ends.I just love how this bed looks - the unique design was what really drew me to it. I like the outline of sleigh beds but not the massiveness of the usual slabs of wood. The medallions are a nice flourish. I was glad someone else mentioned here that the finish is slightly rough to the touch, so I was prepared for that - no big deal. Best of all is that this bed is rock solid. I had to get rid of our last one because my spouse flops around like a beached fish as he sleeps, and the swaying of the bed when he'd flop was truly maddening.UPDATE: It's been three years and this bed is still rock solid. And I still love the way it looks!

Heavy, well made bed. It looks like the pictures you see.Very stable, it doesn't creak or make noises when you are on it - at all.It took me a couple of hours to put this bed together, and is difficult (but not impossible) to do by yourself (as I did).Often when you take this bed out of the box there are areas where the finish has rubbed or where the polystyrene has rubbed a white mark. My bed had minimal issues.If you like the look of this bed, this is a good price for it. O think the bed could use some color, and more detail in the two round shields on the foot and head boards.I paired this bed with a five inch Zinio foundation. I chose the foundation you build completely ($95); but I probably should have gotten the Zinio 5" model that is complete and split and folds down which was $50 more. A 5" foundation is perfect for a 12" mattress.I'm pleased with this purchase.

I have been watching this bed for several months. I was alerted that price had dropped so I ordered it. It arrived by local delivery. Very heavy!!!!! It was easy to put together(30 min max) I used a canister to hold rails while i screwed them in, with extra screws left over. Yes I checked all holes to make sure I didn't miss something. It is VERY sturdy & looks just like the pictures. It has a rough antique feel & color. The design of iron work is beautiful. I love it & recommend it to everyone. Thanks Amazon!!!!

We first saw this bed in a store and knew it was ours. The style is really appealing with the side rails and overall appearance. This bed looks even better in our room with the homemade quilt on it.After looking at all the different sites selling this bed we noticed Amazon had it for as low priced as anyone. With the free delivery from Amazon Prime we had, even this special delivery, our bed within about 10 days.

At the time of this posting, we have had this bed for roughly three months supporting a latex mattress. We are very pleased with it--it is heavy and feels solid/sturdy--no wobbling or creaking so far. I was mildly surprised at the finish, as I was expecting it to be smooth, but it is actually a very finely textured finish. It is not rough per se, but is textured just enough to collect (and display) skin flakes if one rubs against it with dry skin. Overall, I am very happy with this bed and would recommend it to others interested in this style.

I freaking love this bed!!!! But make sure you have a large enough room for the King size because it is a HUGE bed!!! It is very sturdy and very very heavy!! It completely accents my room just the way I intended it to. The picture makes the metal look like it has a slight luster or shine to it but it does not AT ALL!! That would be my only gripe but other than that, I would purchase this bed all over again! It did come with a dent in the headboard that was barely visible but I was compensated accordingly for that. GET IT!!!

Arrived earlier than expected. Very easy set-up and seems well made. The only con is the foot board arrived with a noticeable scratch that is bright silver against the dark metal coating.

I love, love , love this bed!! Sturdy, beautiful and VERY well made. I was a little hesitant about getting a metal bed because I thought it might squeak eveytime I turned over. Not this bed! The design is absolutely beautiful. So glad I purchased it. Hillsdale Furniture was prompt with delivery too.
