you won't be disappointed.
When at the Whisky Festival in Edinburgh earlier in the year, came across this as part of the tasting sessions. I could not believe how relatively inexpensive this whisky was for the quality on offer. A wee gem from Macallan. You know you want to- just do it, you won't be disappointed.

Well deserved reputation!
Macallan is my personal favourite scotch and a bargain at the price. This is a more subtle whisky than some single malt and it could be too "light weight" for some but personally I like the fact it is lighter and more refined. It doesn't have an overpowering taste of peat or smoke like some and isn't too dry. I'd previously been drinking Dalwinnie and Singleton and Macallan is in my opinion preferable. It is slightly fruity and quite complex in flavour. I came to drinking scotch via bourbon, so this is very much to my own palate. I'd recommend to anyone who likes good Bourbon but wants to try single malt. At the end of the day it is all about personal taste!

Very nice.
I love most single malts including this one - the exception is too peaty or too smokey which gives a kind of chemical taste although the medium smokiness and peatiness is very nice - also avoid the cheaper malt Scotch in cut price stores- McCallums are very nice malts.

Such a bad quality from Macallan is not expected at all
I received the bottle on time but was shocked and deeply dissatisfied when I have seen some impurities or foreign particle in a sealed bottle. I have notified to Macallan and Food Standard Agency Also.Such a bad quality from Macallan is not expected at all.

The most average scotch, but a good starting point.
A highly average scotch, but one good for the newcomer to scotch whisky.

Disappointing
Macallan usually has a discernible house style and character. This 'Gold' doesn't. It's very young tasting and in a poor way in that the whisky hasn't really had enough time to develop. It would be better with a mixer or in a cocktail - but then a good blend would do the job and be cheaper.

Excellent
Great smooth whisky, highly recommended and for the price it is a non brainier, a must try for any whisky lover (it is not a smokey whisky)
