This is perfect if you're looking to buy everything you need in one place and don't know where to start. I've since replaced everything here with my own custom set, but this got me through my first campaign with zero problems. Worked well for the Mines of Phandelver campaign.

This combination package is extremely versatile. The maps are a proper thickness. The “punch out” puzzle like pieces make for greater playability and functionality. You can mix and match the pieces with the different maps. The set of dice inside were a nice extra as I didn’t catch it in the original description. I can’t wait to use this during my next one-shot campaign. Storage, though wide, the box is remarkably flat for all the things it has inside it.

High quality, with enough diverse content to cover most entry level dungeons. I like it.

This box includes a solid mix of DM tools: a set of dice, hex battle maps, tokens, dry erase markers, and a DM screen. As a whole it’s a decent starter kit, but the DM screen is the real standout. Instead of being pre-printed, the screen has paper sleeves that let you swap in a set of included DM reference sheets. They cover rules, conditions, and other handy info, and you can even replace them with your own if you like. That flexibility makes it a lot more useful than most budget screens I’ve come across. The rest of the items are nice to have but feel more like extras than essentials for me personally. The dice are standard and roll fine, the maps and tokens are serviceable, and the dry erase markers do their job — I just don’t expect to lean on them as much. Pros: Great for brand-new DMs who want everything in one package The customizable DM screen with reference sheets is worth it alone Cons: The other items are fine, but won’t replace higher-quality upgrades down the line Overall, a good starter kit with one surprisingly strong component. Even if you don’t end up using every item, the screen and papers make this box worth considering.

Great selection of quick reference sheets, not too sure about the battlemaps. Cleans pretty easy, doesn’t take up a lot of space. Seems to have warped in the short time I’ve had it so I had to weigh it down at one point to get it flat again.

It’s a decent sized cardboard battle map, that’s easy to set up. Comes with red and black expo markers and a set of dice. The dm screen also comes with 4 cheat sheets and plastic sleeves to put them in, makes it perfect for notes as well. I used it for a large combat and it helped the players visualize what was going on. It’s also 22x26 so it allows for tons of movement and any shape you want to draw on it. The cardboard doesn’t feel cheap and the pop out monsters that it comes with don’t feel cheap either. All in all a great purchase for any gm.

Wish it had better enemy tokens, but it do be what it be. Equity is preety good and none of the cardboard pieces ripped upon removal.
