Not the best product out there - I’ve tried a lot of freeze dried vanilla ice cream products and this ain’t one I’d purchase again. It’s so hard. It’s on the verge of being honey comb. Large uneven hard thick sugar areas in each stick. Try others on this site - preferably those in a circular tub

As the title says. These taste lovely but not even 2 handfuls of product in way oversized packaging (maybe that’s part of the overpricing issue). If this was £5 then maybe it’d be a regular purchase. But I just cannot justify spending £10 on massive packaging and a tiny amount of overpriced product.

I have recently reviewed another Star Candies product—the freeze-dried worms—and although interesting and tasty, the price for what you receive is exorbitant. This Star Candies freeze-dried ice cream is off to a much better start—still the same £10, but at least you get 50g of this product as opposed to 20g of the worms. Again, the packaging of the product is pretty much spot on. The colour palette used really reminds me of vanilla ice cream, so well done to them for that. The bag is resealable, too. Out of the bag, visually the freeze-dried ice cream sticks are a little bit disappointing, if truth be told. Not unattractive, but not attractive. In the mouth, they are very hard but then melt to nothing. I like the sensation, but the end result is a little bit ‘cloying’. I can certainly taste vanilla ice cream, but unless my taste buds are broken, the freeze-drying process seems to reduce the sweetness (not necessarily a bad thing). I think these are far better value than the worms, but I still question the price. £10 is a lot of money for one bag of confectionery, and although 50g is visually far more generous than 20g, the product still looks lost in the bag.

I actually really like this — you can taste and even feel bits of real fruit in it. It’s got that light, crispy freeze-dried texture and a nice blueberry flavour. My teen daughter wasn’t as into it, though — maybe a bit too tangy or unusual for her taste. Great if you like fruity, crunchy sweets that don’t melt.

Das "Mango-Eis" ist gefühlt nur gefriergetrockneter Mangobrei. Es schmeckt zwar nach Mango, aber irgendwie auch künstlich und die versprochene "knusprige" Konsistenz wird eher zu Schaumstoff im Mund. Auf jeden Fall schmeckt es nicht wie cremiges Mangoeis, höchstens nach purem Mangopüree oder Mangosorbet mit Süßstoffen. In der Tüte ist wirklich nicht viel drin, daher verstehe ich den Preis für 15€ nicht. Und selbst mit dem Karton um die Tüte war es innen noch ziemlich zerbröselt.

Ich persönlich finde es Mega lecker. Suchtgefahr 😋 erinnert mich vom Geschmack her an Kaffeeweißer, wenn es im Mund schmilzt. Einziger Minuspunkt- teuer :(

I love the way they snap and crumble when you bite. The delightful crönch that melts into creaminess. Flavor 10/10. Satisfies my desire to eat aerogel.
