I use this for macarons and the color quality is top notch. It doesn’t have any taste which is exactly what you want.

Not great for sourdough coloring, but glad to have on hand for other culinary garnishes
I purchased for use with sourdough bread baking, but unfortunately, the beautiful color bakes out to be undistinguishable, or extremely faint. It would however be great in sauces / yogurts / things that are not heavily cooked (for color preservation). I’m glad to have it on hand for other culinary uses, it just didn’t work for sourdough.
