It works perfectly for keeping track of monthly expenditures.

Laboratory Tested
I purchased this book to keep track of household expenses. I have used other books, and this one was less expensive. This may be due to there are less pages. I showed my husband this ledger I purchased to keep track of our purchases. I am the person responsible for keeping track of all our finances. When I showed him this book he said one of the laboratories he use to work in used this exact ledger. Not sure what for, although I do know his work in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry requires keeping track of records for audits.

Great Ledger
Great for accounting to keep business records up to date. It has plenty of room to write things clearly without having to cram it all in. Columns are wide enough and lots of pages for my needs. It is hard covered and the pages are well bound, numbered, and won't fall out.

used in the studio to inventory paint tubes
i looked long and hard for a journal/ledger like this, with unlabeled columns that weren't divided up in the tiny boxes for cash recording. i'm an artist, and i keep a record of my paint inventory. i list them by manufacturer, type (tube or pan) and pigment number, as well as how much is in inventory, and when i need to order fresh stock. this was absolutely perfect for me. i labeled the columns at the top of the page. it's very very simple to look through to see what i have and what i need to order whenever the paints are on sale. i have even started to notate the results of lightfast tests on the pigments, so i know if one pigment should be dropped in favor of a more lightfast pigment. if you're keeping an inventory of paints or brushes or some such items. this is the perfect physical journal to have. it's extremely sturdy as well. i know that this is old school but it works for my studio

Accounting Ledger.
Expensive at 17$. But for my bills, this will last 6 years if I use two pages and over 12 years if I do single pages. So it's worth it. Boorum and Pease use of the word Journal is different to what it means in America. A journal is for Accounting in Europe, not writing down your thoughts or events of the day, that is indeed a Diary. There is no error of how the pages are printed as one person stated. This is not a mistake. The Record book has what we would call lined writing pages for recording notes, to us that is a Journal. In any case, it works perfect for my needs and is better than any of the junk on Amazon so far. I'm not using a pen so I cannot attest to bleed through or see through. I only use pencil and for that it is excellent, it erases well too. Quite durable. In any case, it will last several years for doing bills.

Is it expensive? Yes.
Is it expensive? Yes. But is is the best accounting book available on Amazon? Also yes. Boorum & Pease is TOPS’ high end business line, and their design choices in this reflect that. The cover is a lovely bookcloth, paper is perfectly weighted, no errors or fading in printing, pages don’t bleed from rollerball or gel inks, and it’s slim and stored easily, or looks beautiful on my desk. If you prefer doing your daily accounting and inventory by hand (or want something ridiculously fancy to keep your to-do lists in), highly recommend. They’re the only account books I’ll use that aren’t on my computer.

Classic ledger
I’ve been using this particular ledger for several years for my patient care and it is the perfect article. I’m able to go through it in One Direction and then flip it over and go back through the other direction and please don’t ever go out of business such a useful piece of, my daily work and I have had many people admire the ledger when they see it so hopefully you’re doing lots of business !
