Fantastic piece of engineering
Fantastic piece of engineering. Looks great working up on the wall too.

brilliant clock
a fantastic kit. Brilliant design and runs perfectly, as long as you make sure all the gears are not rubbing against their neighbour and you get the beat right. it helps if youre used to mending or building clocks. its a lovely Victorian industrial design, and runs perfectly with about a pound in the weight, as long as you run the gears in a bit....brilliant i have added a pulley to the weight, and run it with the same weight. i had to shorten the pendulum by about 2 inches because the swing is a lot more natural than the original design. i¬ll add more cord later.

Wooden 3D clock
This clock looks nice but it goes for about 30 seconds then gives up which is very frustrating.

Great for someone who loves a challenge
I have bought similar in the past for my husband and all have been successful. This wooden clock has kept my husband quiet for a few weeks now. He spends a couple of hours a day putting the clock pieces together. Still not quite complete yet so I haven't taken photos. Brilliant gift for someone mechanically minded. This will be a fairly large piece once finished but all the more fascinating to look at. The instructions to build are clear and my husband is enjoying building the clock.

virtually impossible to complete
Very difficult build especially the last part wher you put the back on. umpteen spindles and fix points. You need around twenty fingers. I have tried so many times and given up. Supplier needs to produce a proper build video rather than just an advertisment.

really great value for money and superb quality and presentation
An excellent model requires attention to all the axles and gear meeting faces for smooth operation. The same with any clock!!

Fun build but disappointing
Absorbing build, but a bit disappointed with the final build. Doesn’t work really. Too fiddly .Fun to make tho.

So! These Christmas holidays I’ve assembled both- the Ugears Aero and Wooden City wall clock. And have luxury to compare. In two words: both wall clock are very hi quality product requiring a ton of attention and time to assemble. The user manual of uterus is a bit more detailed, but I can not call the wooden city unclear. I had literally “0” confusion in the assembly process. Everything is very well presented. The material quality and cutouts of ugears I liked better. Some fine details of the wooden city I really had troubles to extract (my poor nails… sometimes the provided tool is just not enough) But the design of the wooden city clock I liked better much better! This dark brown two-colored visual matches my room much better. The ugears though is light and fits well to the kids room. Wooden city is exposing more of the inner working of the mechanism itself. The ugears has this nice “raising balloon” mechanic (but this one requires a LOT of fine tuning before it works) Bottom line- I am very happy with both. Can totally recommend: Wooden city for office or living room Ugears- for bedroom or kids room. UPD: biggest concern is the “time to fall”. At the length of approx 180-190 cm it takes only about 8 hours for the weight to reach the bottom. So as a time measuring device these clock are incompetent. Could be really cool to have them last at least 2-3 days. But afraid hardly possible for a wooden mechanism (See a screenshot- about the best accuracy I managed to achieve- very fluctuating)

Compared to others this clock fails miserably. First to remove the pieces from the board is more difficult then others , every piece , mostly the smaller ones have you on edge fir the fear of breaking them , the instructions not in a book like others but on a massive paper, the dowels are almost impossible to slide through the holes i found myself sanding then waxing and still too tight. I ended up breaking 2 of them Then the instructions for stringing makes no sense again the instructions are blurry. I had to go online to a video to understand what the order was. The piece of wax included was tiny at best. Sheet a as an example will be numbered 1 to 59 but part 49 is on sheet c. The small connector pieces are incredible hard to remove to the point an exact o knife is needed to cut them out. Just very unhappy with this clock ive made many before , 1st and last from this company. This is a high priced clock compared to others but very disappointing .
