Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Emotionally beautiful - Blue Sisters by @cocomellors is a novel that quietly broke my heart and held it with such tenderness. As someone who lives with chronic pain, I felt the anguish of Nicky’s story on a deeply personal level. Her suffering is written with such honesty and care that it felt seen rather than sensationalised, it was raw, exhausting, and achingly real. This is a beautiful book, one that took me through a full cycle of emotions. It explores life in all its mess and complexity: death, suicide, grief, addiction, love, divorce, sexual identity, and the deep-rooted impact of familial trauma. Each theme is handled with nuance and compassion, never feeling heavy-handed, but deeply felt. The characters are so richly drawn and believable that they linger long after the final page. Their bonds, fractures, and attempts at healing felt painfully human. This is a story that will stay with me for a long time, it was thoughtful, moving, and quietly powerful. A perfect book to end the year on. Review: Emotional and well written - I quite enjoyed this. Thought it was well written and emotional in parts, but some of the sisters’ antics got a bit annoying as the story progressed although the ending was well done.

Average and lacklustre
This book neither surpassed my expectations or disappointed; although to be honest I’m unsure if I had any expectations at all. I bought it based on reviews and; being one of three sisters myself, thought it would be relatable to an extent although I generally didn’t know much about the premise. The book is less whimsical, dreamy & positive vibes and more negative, stressful and busy vibes. It didn’t particularly calm me but not in a way that a thriller does in which you just want to know more so you enjoy the read despite the dramatic storyline; this just seemed a little lacklustre. The entire concept of the novel centers around sisterhood; touching on (TW) intense grief, drug abuse, infidelity, sexuality, the list goes on. It was very difficult to read at points and usually, there is a moral to these stories or a point to it all. The point here seemed to be sisters coming together to move forward with their lives after suffering loss. It felt like it was building upto something but instead, had a mediocre ending and all in all, seemed a bit of a pointless story. Nothing was achieved. If you read it, you’ll see what I mean. Side note - the ‘quirky’ and ‘bohemian’ protagonist who works in the fashion industry is becoming tiresome and pretentious; and can only be done correctly if the writer thoroughly knows what they’re talking about prior to writing. I feel this was not the case here.

A well written family story
I've had to debate a lot about what to rate this book because whilst I liked it and when I was reading it I was totally into it. I also took 3 whole weeks to finish it. Now this was for several reasons. 1. I've been on the tired side to read so much and been busy. 2 I found myself not reaching for it. A tale of 4 sisters. When 1 of them passes the others grieve heavily. The main story follows the other 3 sisters about a year after the passing. With alternating chapters between the sisters, each one going through a self destructive phase on their lives. I must say I resonated with the sisters to a point having 2 sisters myself and considering myself to have a functional dysfunctional family which I consider the Blue family to be also. my favourite sister was Lucky, the youngest. Her characters were wilder and more fun to read in my opinion. A well written family story and a change of pace from a lot of the books I tend to read.

Insightful female family story
Loved this book, if you are luckily enough to have sisters, I think it really hits home. The relationship ups and downs, the camaraderie, the nuances between where you come in birth order, relationships with parents, how your views change with age and experiences etc.

A page turner.
Great exploration of complex family psychology, with fascinating character development. Not so keen on some of the sexual descriptions, not that this is a dominant theme. Overall, a brilliant read.
