I like this mold. It's great for resin (I haven't used it for soap or candles, but I'm sure it would work just as well. With a little mold-release everything comes out clean even with the fine details (which can sometimes get stuck in molds). Because the silicone is thick, it can take a little bit of effort to remove. I would only use this with crafting or gumpaste which dries hard; I don't think it would be good for baking or making chocolate/candy shells. But as I was showing my boyfriend (an artist with a sharp eye for detail) my little resin creations, he pointed something out: There's no "filling" in the macarons. They have the characteristic crinkly "feet" but nothing between them. They create a full product that mimics just placing two plain maracon shells together with no filling. I wouldn't have noticed this if he hadn't pointed it out, but now I can't unsee it! Regardless, it still creates a very cute shape that I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice. If it ends up bothering you the way it bothers me, I've taken to only filling them half way to create single macaron shells and then using fake whipped cream to fill them myself (which I think creates a more natural appearance).

This mold is so cute! I use it to make bath bombs. The only issue is everyone keeps trying to eat my bath bombs because they look so real haha
