Slick match footage made simple
Last Saturday’s youth league highlights looked as if they’d been filmed from a proper TV gantry, not from a tripod wedged between water bottles. The XbotGo Chameleon records crisp 4K at sixty frames per second through a 120-degree lens, uses on-board AI to follow the flow of play, and streams the lot straight to YouTube. On a fully charged battery mine ran for a shade over eight hours, enough for three matches and the inevitable penalties tacked on at the end. Setting the camera up is about as tricky as boiling a kettle. Open the app, tap connect, and you’re live. A small Bluetooth clicker and an Apple Watch widget mean you can start or stop recording while still herding players into warm-up drills. The tracking software is the real party trick. Instead of jerking from left to right as cheaper rigs do, the picture glides, keeping the action centred so viewers stay focused on the football rather than reaching for travel-sickness tablets. Hoist the Chameleon on a lightweight stand and it copes with basketball too. During a particularly frantic five-a-side near Hackney Marshes it briefly lost the orange ball, though it picked things up again before the next pass. You get 20 GB of free cloud storage, which feels generous until you realise two busy weekends will fill it. I now make a habit of downloading clips to a hard drive after every session, a small price to pay for tidy archives. With its sturdy shell, solid stabilisation, and the welcome absence of any subscription fees, the Chameleon is a bit of kit I’m happy to recommend to coaches and parents who want clean, shareable footage without unnecessary fuss.

Very easy to use sports camera
There are a lot of AI cameras out there and it was a bit difficult for me to decide which one to buy but I was very happy that I finally found one. I'm using it to record my son's football sessions and so the camera works really great. The setup was easy and the app that I had to install on my phone works properly and it connects with the actual product easily. What I really like is that I don't have to pay any subscription and the app allows me to record video and also to adjust certain settings. The tracking is one of the most important aspects because now I don't have to manually record everything because this camera does everything for me. The camera pans and also rotates automatically to follow the players and keeps the ball in frame most of the time even when it moves really fast. It records in 4K which means that I can zoom in and still see the details clearly and because this camera supports 60 frames per second, even when the players on the pitch move really fast there is no delay in the recording. It is a small and compact camera with a good build quality and when I have to take it with me I just put it in my bag and I like that it doesn't take too much space. The battery holds for a long time, and managed to record a whole 90 minutes game and there was still enough power to use it without having to charge it. It records properly, tracking feature is great, this is why this camera is suitable for my needs and it saves me a lot of time by not having to stay focused during the games every chord everything myself.

Ok not great, hard to get a refund
This product didn't quite suit my needs, it isn't terrible, but didn't track the team well and needed too much manual intervention when I was trying to coach. Anyway, I returned the item, followed the process, still don't have a refund and the timeline for getting one keeps going back despite the tracking saying the product has been received.

It's ok for the money
When it works, it's good — but there are some major drawbacks. Recording in 4K becomes impossible if you're using a second phone for monitoring; as soon as monitoring is enabled, the system forces a downgrade to 1080p. Once you've marked out the pitch and started recording, there's no option to switch back to 4K mid-session. Tracking can also be unreliable. On several occasions, the camera locked onto footballs left on the sidelines instead of the actual match, so it's worth clearing the area beforehand. The footage can be jerky at times, and the system struggles to keep up with fast-paced play. I've followed multiple setup tutorials, but these issues persist. If you're willing to tolerate the quirks, it's passable for the price — just don't expect flawless performance. *Additional after talking with support you cannot record in 4K using an iPhone using monitor mode only on Android *Updated to 4 stars, the support team were superb with any issues I was having, it doesn't get a 5 though due to the fact it can still be a pain to setup exactly right and the camera can wander

Captures my daughter's hockey matches
I got the XbotGo Chameleon to film my 10 year old daughter's hockey games so we could watch her progress together as a family. I don't have time for complicated setups, so I appreciated how easy this was to get going. The app installed quickly, connected right away, and everything just worked without me needing to dig through a manual. The AI tracking is impressive and it smoothly follows the action without feeling robotic or jumpy. The video quality is clear even when the lighting changes or the kids are running fast. I also like that it doesn’t require a subscription, so we’re not locked into paying more down the line. The camera is compact and sturdy, fits in my bag easily, and stays steady on a tripod without any wobble. It ran through the full match with power left over, and the footage was simple to transfer. Streaming worked well on both my iPhone and my wife's Android. The battery lasts well. I was able to easily record a 45 min game (with a few breaks) without needing to worry about it dying, and there was still some charge left afterward. I don't expect any difference when she moves up to a full 70 min games. If I had to change one thing, it would be the bright lemon green colour. I reckon lava graphite would look more subtle, and wouldn’t draw so much attention when I’m setting everything up on the sidelines. In terms of cost - yes, it's not exactly cheap, but it delivers. Watching my daughter play back her matches and talk through what she learned makes every penny feel well spent. These memories are worth it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Game-Changer for Capturing Youth Footy – XbotGo Chameleon is Brilliant!
As the new cameraman for my son's footy team, I wanted something that could keep up with fast-paced action without requiring a whole production crew — and the XbotGo Chameleon AI Auto Sports Camera has completely exceeded expectations! From the first game, this little device proved to be an absolute gem. The 4K 60FPS video is incredibly sharp and smooth, capturing every sprint, pass, and goal with clarity. What truly sets it apart, though, is the AI auto-tracking — it follows the ball and players intelligently without any manual control. I can set it up on the sideline, enjoy the match, and let the camera do the hard work. Live streaming has also been seamless. Parents and grandparents who can’t make it to the game have been able to tune in from their phones thanks to the easy-to-use app (works great on both iOS and Android). And best of all — no subscription required, which is a huge plus compared to other cameras we looked at. The team has even started watching the replays to improve their gameplay. The kids love seeing their highlights, and it's become a great tool for coaches too. Also, the lemon green color makes it super easy to spot — I’ve had several parents and opposing teams ask me what camera I’m using! If you're managing or supporting a youth sports team and want top-notch footage without a complicated setup, the XbotGo Chameleon is 100% worth it. I’m proud to be capturing memories for the boys, and this camera has made that possible in the best way.

Handy tracker for matches
Footy training in our local park has just stepped up a notch. I strapped the XbotGo Chameleon to an old tripod, linked it to my Android mobile, and it started pumping out 4K, 60-frame footage through its very wide 120-degree lens. The clever AI kept tabs on every single nine-year-old tearing about in midfield. With roughly eight hours in the battery, I can film the minis, grab a brew, then wander back for my own grim Sunday-league cameo without rummaging for a spare pack. The headline act is the auto-tracking. I frame the pitch, tap record on the little Bluetooth clicker or my Apple Watch, and the camera shadows the whole team, not just the ball my mate Steve usually misplaces after three pints. Image stabilisation smooths things out when the wind howls across Manchester’s finest bit of astroturf. Under bargain-basement floodlights the picture is acceptable, although dusk does introduce a touch of grain. The companion app now and then throws a sulk during Wi-Fi handovers, and the 20-gig cloud allowance fills quicker than my daughter’s sticker album, yet exporting highlights afterwards is painless enough. It feels solid in the hand, the image quality is cracking, and, because there is no ongoing subscription, my wallet stays intact. Whether you are coaching, parenting, or an over-competitive software developer, it is a smart little gadget that deserves a spot in the kit bag.

Product is hit and miss. Software updates are constant, sometimes it improves the tracking other times it makes the unit worse. Product also overheats
