It does the job, simple packaging was a plus
No cutting or ripping apart a plastic sealed container. The item works as advertised, I would recommend to anyone.

DOA non functional.
DOA, Windows 10 said it was an unrecognized USB device. When inserted into a USB port the USB side of this audio cable started heating up. Think there is a short somewhere. Not recommeded.

You'll likely need a ground loop isolator to pair with this. Also gets very hot.
If you use this without a ground loop isolator, you're very likely to get lots of popping. With one, sounds great. But regardless, this thing gets VERY hot. Like, I grabbed it and thought "is this thing about to catch fire??" hot and immediately unplugged it. Kept a closer eye on it in future use, and it never got quite THAT hot again, but it's always uncomfortably warm. Is it rated to work at these heat levels? I'm plugging it into a rather expensive monitor, so it kind of worries me. That said, looking it up, it appears somewhat normal for these things to get "pretty hot" (whatever that means) so I've continued using it without any issue. Really wouldn't be opposed to future revisions coming with some sort of passive cooling or at least some info on their standard operating temperature. As it stands I'm not entirely confident in its longevity or safety.

when headphone jacks go away
For all the stupidity of companies removing the headphone jacks from audio, at least this cable works to kind of bring it back to use my favorite headphones. New things are built to break, rather than old things which are built to last and easily be repaired. This cable, while it might not work with everything, seems to work with everything I have which no longer has a headphone jack. I still prefer a headphone cable over this one, but at least now I still have the option.
