Nice basic PC
Bought as an inexpensive, no fuss replacement for an old media PC that didn't have enough RAM or SSD and would have needed more time and $$ to upgrade. This worked flawlessly out of the box and provided significantly more capacity and capability at a great price point. It's silent, runs cool (43C at the moment), and the ability to add a slim 2.5" SATA disk is a nice plus. Installing Linux (Xubuntu 24.04 minimal) was quick and completely painless. Plugged in a bootable USB, started it up, adjust the BIOS boot order, and go. Everything just worked. The hardest part was probably figuring out which HDMI option to tell it to use for audio output and unmuting it. FWIW, the performance of this little box also completely blows my older NUC type machines out of the water at a lower real price. It's probably not going to impress hardcore gamers or someone looking for a screaming fast top end PC, but definitely gets the job done as a solid basic machine. 01/2026 Added a photo...

BATTLEFIELD 6 AND 12TB GAME DRIVE WORKED FINE
Waited for over a full year before leaving review. Actually pretty darn good for a mini pc. Got it back May 2024, been running windows apps with no problems, AAA games. Kinhank and other 12TB game drives through the USB connections with no hiccups. Even hooking up the Retro Shooter lightguns and games worked just fine. Upgrading was easy enough. Changed from 1tb to 4tb NVME and 4tb SSD easily enough. WI-FI working great, consistent speed of over 650 Mbps, more than fast enough for me. Noise is minimal. Thought I'd ran into a problem when Battlefield 6 came out Oct 2025. Installed it on steam...but after upgrading the AMD drivers, played with no problems. So even with the integrated graphics AMD Card, it runs fine. Got this as a portable one in case I want to take it to another room and hook it up on the big screen TV and works great. For a small, versatile, overall price and powerful mini-pc, it is worth it. Switching between using the DP to the HDMI port was easy, even got a DP to HDMI adapter plug to try it on two monitors and ran into no problems. Bluetooth on it works just fine. Attached a small usb hub to stash in the very back of the shelf. mouse, keyboard, others and ran into no issues. Didn't get hot in any way. TIPS: if you play AAA type games, those with over 50gb + sizes, install on the NVME. Other programs or light gaming ones on the SSD. If you run into a problem trying to play AAA games or a brand newer game and it's not running right or stalls. Most likely you just need to update the AMD drivers. Don't bother looking for a specific one for this, just go to the AMD website, download the AMD adrenaline program and once it's installed, it will let you install the latest one right through the software. OOH..other tip like if you play Battlefield 6 and similar games, you will need to go into the BIOS to change to Secure Boot mode. Don't worry, play the game and if not pops up, then you are good to go. If not..it'll tell you. So many mini-pcs out there and for sure more powerful ones and of course..more expensive ones, but for the mid-price one...this one rocks!!!!

Excellent Mini PC (for Linux users)
This seems to be a well constructed machine. Very quiet and smooth. Opening the case is easy and quick, especially for a small PC, and it compares favorably to models I've owned or worked with from other makers (like HP Elite Mini series, some NUC-style machines, etc.) in both accessibility and easy of cleaning. (Obviously it does require unscrewing things, but that's a minimal issue.) You can replace all the major things like RAM, SSD, and wifi card w/o any trouble. Port choices are also very reasonable and well positioned. Currently running perfectly on Manjaro (Arch Linux derivative) with one minor issue - I had to set Bluetooth control panel to "receive from trusted devices" to send a file from my phone to the machine. Getting 150/380 Mbps Internet speed over wifi (no idea what router is supposed to be capable of, happy enough with that). 150% scaling factor on a TV display works well, no issues. Did not work as well w/ OpenSUSE tumbleweed, which had constant wifi issues - it seems to not have a good kernel or driver for the Intel AX200 for whatever reason. (I think it's known that Intel's driver's for AX200 are kind of finicky.) Was able to swap M.2 wifi card with no issues while evaluating tumbleweed, wouldn't recommend, just go w/ Arch or Manjaro. Any case, highly recommend the machine, it's without a doubt the best mini PC I've owned, though probably the most comparable machine is a Mac Mini, which I can't totally speak to in comparison.

Beelink SER8 mini PC - overall a good PC, with a few issues
I recently purchased a Beelink SER8 / 8745HS Mini PC on Amazon. While I have a MOSTLY favorable impression of this mini PC system, there are also some negatives, which I will list below. I received the PC in good condition, and started installing Windows 11 Pro updates, and some of my basic user software. The good stuff first :-) This mini PC is REALLY FAST, and extremely quiet, with very low fan noise! Also the fan ventilation is very effective, keeping the CPU temperatures low, even under moderate CPU loads. Since I do some audio editing on my PC, low fan noise is very important to me, and this mini PC meets this requirement. The AMD Ryzen 7 processor is speedy, and the AMD Radeon display adapter plays videos smoothly, with high frame rates. It handles my older Windows 10 apps, without any noticeable difficulties. It has an audio output jack on both the front and rear panels, which is a handy feature, not found on most mini PCs. The build quality of this mini PC feels quite solid, and the brushed metal top cover looks great. There are also a few negative aspects to this Beelink mini PC. First off, I immediately noticed the poor download speed performance of the internal Intel AX200 WiFi controller. Using my home 5G WiFi connection and the built-in Intel WiFi adapter, I was only able to reach a download speed of 34 Mbps, which is really dismal. THE SOLUTION : I disabled the internal WiFi adapter in "Device Manager", and connected a TP Link AC600 external USB WiFi adapter/antenna, and was able to achieve a download speed of 174 Mbps - which is about 5 times faster! Since the $15 USB WiFi adapter performs so much better, I have left the internal Intel WiFi adapter disabled, and am using the external USB WiFi adapter all the time now. While this is a cheap fix for the WiFi download speed problem, it is also a bit of a disappointment. ( NOTE :The download performance is probably degraded because of the placement of the built-in WiFi antenna, inside the metal case. ) Other issues that I have yet to resolve, are problems with "sleep mode". One problem is that even if I set the "Power Options" setting to "Put the computer to sleep : 45 minutes", this PC does not actually go to sleep after 45 minutes! I have dug around in the other device software settings, but have been unable to fix this problem so far. The other problem with "sleep mode" is that it occasionally wakes up from manually initiated sleep mode, for no apparent reason. No clue as to why this happens, although it may have something to do with the fact that this PC is never fully asleep. This is because the SER8 system's BIOS only supports "S0 Modern Sleep" mode, which means that while it is "sleeping", Windows 11 is still running in the background, USB power is still on, and network internet activity is also happening! Apparently there is no way to disable this "feature" in the Windows 11 software, nor in the BIOS settings. While this is a very common "feature" (LOL) of most modern PC's, including Apple PCs, it is a potential network security issue, and it's also a waste of electric power. To sum up - this is overall a solid mini PC, despite the issues I have mentioned here.

Excellent Performance and Value – Perfect Mini PC
The Beelink EQR6 Mini PC is a powerhouse in a compact form! With the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and 24GB DDR5 RAM, it handles demanding multitasking, video editing, and even gaming with ease. The 500GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD provides lightning-fast storage and quick boot times. I was impressed by the build quality, whisper-quiet operation, and efficient cooling system. The size is ideal for home offices, media centers, or even as a portable workstation. Setting it up was a breeze, and it runs Windows 11 Pro flawlessly. It’s also easy to upgrade if needed. Overall, this mini PC delivers desktop-level performance in a sleek, space-saving form factor. Highly recommended for power users, professionals, and gamers looking for top-tier specs without a bulky tower!

Works like a champ!
Lots of power in a small box. My son talked me into getting this micro computer and it has been perfect. So small but has everything I need. I have been very impressed that this fine little computer replaced my enormous dinosaur of a computer and takes up very little space.

Powerful .....Fast
BEELINK SER 5 Mini Pc. February 1 2025. I have been an Intel man since 1990 and first AMD Ryzen 7 5850 processor since and performs equally or even better than the Intel. It came with 1TB hard drive, 16gb Ram. I wish I would of spent $20 more and had 32GBof RAM installed. The AMD comes with their on graphic card , Randon with a GPU processor 8 core , 16 threads capability. The machine comes wth1GB eithernet slot and Wifi 6 card. Also has Bluetooth 5. AMD software is excellant and monitor CPU and GPU temperature. Plus several other specific monitoring and setting features. I had a difficulty downloading the AMD software and realized it was my AVG security keeping me from downloading, All I did was disabled my internet security and it downloaded successfully. It came with MS Winows 11 Professional, the registration went smoothly and updated windows and security fine, I'm using two out of three monitor ports, one HDMI and HDMI display. I connected USB 3,0, four port extender, for wireless mouse and keyboard and 3.0 flash drive. I also connected to USB 30 port to 1TB hard drive plus a CDVD writable drive for offering wider variety of software. The cooling fans are not noticeable loud and pushes the air straight through the unit removing the heat as it should. My knowledge with PC started in late 80's for work. I went an opened a shop back 1990 with my first computer, apple with 40mB hard drive with floppy drive . Upgraded when internet came out and updated to compact desktop with 14.5kb eithernet modem. Since then, I have had, Hp, Dell and many others desktop manufactures spending 1000s of dollars over my coarse my life. I researched small form pcs for sometime and found Beelink SER5 for $299 offered the most for my buck. I would recommend this pc to anyone

it's looks good
The overall quality of the MINI PC is quite good. Honestly, I’m a bit surprised by how well the chassis is designed. It’s been a long time since I last bought a Chinese-made PC, and this one exceeded my expectations. However, there are a few shortcomings: The product specifications on the official website are inconsistent. The main page lists the CPU as R7-6800H, but the detailed specs section says R7-5800H. The memory is also listed differently in different places — sometimes 24GB, sometimes 32GB — which can be confusing. The only real drawback with the actual unit is that the USB-C port is located on the front panel, which isn’t very convenient or aesthetically pleasing when connecting peripherals. Overall, I’m satisfied with the performance and build quality. If the product information and port layout could be improved, it would be nearly perfect.
