This is one must have utensil for every kitchen
This product is simply amazing and of very best quality that is available on Amazon. Its just worth an investment as it will last a lifetime with the right handling. Following are my comments after one month of usage. Pros: 1. This is an original Lodge product and the very weight and finishing of it prove the quality. 2. Forget about all the non-stick and surgical grade SS pans. The food never sticks to the bottom (Ofcoursre with the right temperature) 3. Heats up very quickly and evenly and most of the cooking can be done on low flame and no scorching of food. 4. Whatever the cooking maybe, every time the results are perfect. You will find the difference from the very first use with the taste and the texture of the food. 5. The depth of the pan and the handle is perfect for roasting or baking in the oven or stove. Also, the side lips are very convenient for pouring 6. Being cast iron, cooked food is healthier. Cons: I am still not able to find one :) Note: Cleaning and seasoning of this product is very easy and I follow the below steps: 1. Wash it with any dishwashing detergent and scrub. 2. Dry it with a cloth immediately and put it on fire. (You may find rust patches if you leave it longer in water) 3. Once the pan is hot, pour a small spoon full of any vegetable oil and spread in a very thin coat on entire pan. 4. Again put the pan on fire and heat it well. (Don't allow it to smoke) Thanks to ATM Retail and Amazon for this wonderful product

Perfect addition to my Lodge cookwares!
I have been using Lodge Square Grill Pan for quite some time, and needed a skillet, which made me go for it. Anyone who has used Lodge products once, will not go for anything else ever in life. The skillet is just perfect, sturdy, and big enough for me to make 2 chunky steaks side by side. The best part - the seller is throwing in the silicon handle for free! So go get it while you have this on offer.

Makes tasty and healthy food but difficult to maintain
It's great pan for making many dishes. Most of them come out vary tasty and healthy. But maintaining it, is a difficult task! It's too heavy. We have to be extra careful while cleaning it. It can easily break the sink basin, floor or your bone if it sleeps from your hand! We need to properly dry, grease and heat after cleaning, else it'll catch rust.

Pre-Seasoned doesn't mean Anti-Rust
The question is whether pay the price for a good quality US branded product or spend time to search for a good quality Indian product. Because to keep the product free of rust is same in both cases. The built quality of product is good. But would have been much better if anti rust properties came with this price.

Cute product, happy with the purchase.
The make and the material looks great. Product was packed well when it arrived. Whether it is sturdy or not can be only be decided after using it for some time. It's a tiny skillet, it's exactly as described in the product info. Make sure to read the product info regarding the size of the skillet carefully before ordering. Since it's not made in India, it is definitely costlier than other Indian products in this range, but I didn't find this size anywhere else. I wanted to add this one to my collection and I grabbed it as soon as I came across this one.

Tiny but awesome
I bought this to test Lodge cast iron. I had heard and read so much about its benefits that I wanted to check it out myself. It really delivers on every promise. When I actually saw how small the 3.5" pan was, I was amused. However, it sat snug on the smallest burner of my three burner gas top and I had no complaints. I fried an egg as my first attempt to use it. Boy, did it turn out exactly as I wanted it?!! I was thrilled to bits. It tasted better than usual and the brownness on the bottom was even and crisp and the yolk was just right. It got so hot that I turned it off to pour the egg in and it still cooked evenly as I just described. I used a silicone spatula to remove it from the pan. Except for a tiny spot where the egg had stuck, the egg came off easily. Once the pan was a little cool. I rubbed off the excess oil, put it on the fire again to smoke it off and it was ready for the next use. I am so happy with it. I suppose I can use it to season (tadka) the usual Indian fare that is made at home. Although my primary purpose of frying an egg exactly the way I want it will be served well by this little genius of a pan. Of course, you can fry only one egg at a time, it’s so small.

Love it! but learn how to use
This is my first pan, it has been 2 years and I am very happy about it. I did not want to use non stick pans so iron pans is the very old option. Yes it does rust and that makes it look brown but that is how cast iron pans/vessel are. It will happen if you leave it in water or just wet. What I have learnt and this goes for any iron cookware : 1. Wash and dry wipe it, leaving it with water will make it rust. 2. Season it before cooking, sometime before every use. Otherwise food will stick. not only that your food will get that blacish/greyish colour from the pan. 3. Avoid cooking acidic food as again it will darken the food, especially sour food like tamarind, might even change the taste of your food. But you can saute if enough oil is added. 4. Keep patience and you will learn how to use it.

Broke my product in few days use
My cast iron skillet simply broke in 2 pieces - handle got detached while I was washing it. Just can’t believe it. And the more shocking part - it is stone from inside- looks like just a layer of iron on top of stone. Otherwise iron does not break like this. I want a refund from the company - how can I do that ? Can somebody help

Fantastic pans at a great price. Bought in UK so were imported from US which took only about 1 week, arrived a few days before expected. Well packaged and seem well made

These pre-seasoned Lodge cast iron pans - if cared for properly - are a life-long purchase, or possibly longer, if you decide to hand them down to the next generation! They are beautifully made, with a clean, consistent cast, and a considerable heft, even in the smaller sizes. The iron has a tight, fine grain which produces smooth curves and crisp details on the pan, and provides a visible sense of quality. Equipping your kitchen with a set of these would be ideal if you appreciate traditional, quality items that can be passed down from generation to generation - they are genuinely 'Modern Retro'. Unchanged in design over hundreds of years, there is a sense when cooking with these that a great-great-grandmother has done the same somewhere back in the distant past. In this manner, they are eminently suitable for cooking traditional and slow-cooked dishes. Pros: Solid, long-lasting, high quality construction that saves on energy (as less heat is needed) and may improve the taste of your foods. A slower approach on a lower setting will infuse the pan with an even heat all over. The cast iron may not actually add anything taste-wise to the food being cooked, but - possibly by not taking anything away either - it definitely does help food taste better! Meats sear really well, sealing in more flavour. There is absolutely no chance of any contamination from non-stick chemicals or coatings as the pans are entirely naturally coated (cooking oil). Cons: Need slightly more maintenance than a modern non-stick pan, and the considerable weight can make them a bit of a handful! Pre-seasoning (cooked-on oil) ensures less hassle when the pan is new, and as you add to the seasoning through time, the non-stick qualities of the pan increase. Unlike normal non-stick pans, you can use metal kitchen implements with impunity, as the surface is practically bulletproof. However, you must wash the pan in a gentle soap solution after each use, and re-coat the pan with oil before storing it away. In practice, this only takes a couple of minutes and leaves the pan with a satisfying black lustre. Not doing it, or leaving the pan damp, can result in rust quickly forming on the raw iron. However, even this is not a disaster as a gentle scrub and re-oiling will get rid of the rust (although leaving rust on for longer could result in physical damage to the surface of the pan). Due to their robust construction and the nature of cast iron, these pans tend to weigh heavily, even in the smaller sizes. This helps the pan spread and retain heat evenly, but can make them a bit of a handful when moving them around the stove. As an integral part of the pan, the handles heat up at the same rate, so be careful with them! The positive side of this is that the pan can go from stove top to oven to table top (and even BBQ!) without alteration, or risk of a plastic handle melting. Buy a pair of good quality silicone mitts or oven gloves and always lift them using both handles. Lodge do silicone covers for the handles and tempered, oven-proof glass lids in sizes to fit the main pans. For general use, the 8" and 10" sizes should be adequate, with 12" for larger meals or extended family cooking. They are also available in deep versions that can be used as a casserole. We store ours on the gas stove top as we like the look of them so much!

It took a while to get the handle of it, but you just can't go wrong with cast iron. I'm absolutely in love with it! I purchased the silicone gripper, which is nice to have, but I think it's difficult to pour the contents one-handed with it, and I find myself using a towel instead more often than not. I've managed to get it to be more non-stick than my old non-stick pan with a few rounds of seasoning (a slight pain in the ass) but the maintenance and repairability are simply something I wouldn't trade. Do note that caring for it is more involved than caring for a stainless steel pan, but I find that the sear is unmatched, and the temperature doesn't really drop when adding food, which is amazing.
