I’ve bought replacement iPod batteries in the past, and honestly my expectations were pretty low going into this. I’ve had more than a few arrive dead on arrival, and others that were very clearly refurbished pulls being sold as “new,” that only end up lasting a month or so before dying completely (burn in hell iDemigods). Because of that (and the fact that I'm resorting to buying from an Amazon brand with an unpronounceable name) I was fully prepared for disappointment. I’m genuinely glad to say this one works great. It charged up properly, holds a solid charge for days of moderate use, and so far it performs exactly how you’d want a replacement battery to perform. One thing I really appreciated was the flex cable. It’s rigid enough to hold its shape but still posable, which makes lining it up and plugging it in way easier than some ribbon cables I’ve dealt with before. That alone made the install noticeably less frustrating. I also appreciate that tools were included. That said—my gosh—those tools are absolutely useless when it comes to opening a 7th Gen iPod. This isn’t a knock against the seller at all; it’s just the nature of the device. Those things are borderline impossible to open cleanly without using the entire toolbox and every knife in the kitchen. If you’ve opened one before, you already know what kind of fight you’re in for. That said the tools are a nice gesture. All that aside, once installed, the battery itself is excellent. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it does it well. No weird behavior, no rapid drain, no issues so far. Overall, this is a 10/10 replacement in my book, and based on this experience, I’d absolutely buy it again without hesitation.

Battery worked right away. Only had to use the blue plastic splitter stick to open my iPod. Took about 20 minutes for me to complete the job. Time will tell if battery will hold its charge. On a side note, the original battery was labeled as 1300mAh. So this new battery (1050mAh) is almost an "upgrade". Bottom line, I'm happy my iPod is working again.

This one was a bunch of junk doesn’t serve a purpose I would not recommend buying this it’s a waste of money

I found my old IPod in the back of my desk drawer and found the battery was toast. This fit perfectly and was super easy to install once I watched a few how to videos. The phone repair near me wanted $125 to replace it, but I was able to do the job in 15 minutes for around $20. Im so glad I was able to get it running again, because I found some old photos of the kids that I completely forgot about. I highly recommend getting this, saving a ton of money and doing it yourself.

I purchased this to replace the battery for my wife's iPod classic 5.5 gen, 30 gb model. She hadn't used it in years and when we tried charging/booting it up, it would work but the battery would drain so fast. After watching some youtube videos, I was confident that we could replace it. The included tools were helpful. I actually bought a faceplate replacement from another place that came with a long, flat, and thin metal pry tool which was much more useful than the guitar pick tools that came with this battery. The battery was able to fit even though it is 750 mah. I just had to squeeze the case back on a little but it was able to snap into place without issue. Good product and would buy again in future if I decide to get an iPod for myself.

Worked well for the first few weeks or so, but now won’t hold a charge. I bought this battery back in mid to late August and install was easy but I agree with other reviews that the tools aren’t that great. It’s now 3 months later to the day of this review and the iPod will say it’s charging but won’t hold charge enough to even turn on and be recognized by the computer as connected.

Installed in less that 10 minutes. Easy. My device is like a time machine since I have not added music in 20 years. When I connected to my speakers I was blown away with nostalgia.

The tools broke immediately. I had to order a different better set of tools to actually replace the battery. The battery works great, you do have to discharge and recharge it a couple times to get it to work correctly.
